Descripción

The Role:

Join the Cadillac Racing Program Management team as a Business Operations & Cost Optimization Intern supporting trackside and race-event operations. You will audit spend and processes, analyze budget-to-actual performance, and identify cost-cutting opportunities that improve efficiency, cost visibility, and business control without compromising performance, safety, or race readiness.

The Team:

Cadillac Racing competes at the highest levels of global endurance racing, including the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and FIA World Endurance Championship. The Sportscar Program Management team coordinates the people, partners, budgets, and operations required to compete successfully. This role supports that team by strengthening financial discipline, operational efficiency, and measurable cost-reduction initiatives across the program.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create a program spend baseline by organizing historical and forecasted costs across selected race-event, logistics, purchasing, travel, freight, equipment, hospitality, and operational activities.
  • Conduct structured audits of processes and transactions to identify cost drivers, duplication, control gaps, compliance issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Review budgets, invoices, purchase orders, forecasts, and actuals; reconcile discrepancies and organize findings into clear, actionable summaries.
  • Build Excel-based analyses, dashboards, audit tools, and status reports that help Program Management leadership monitor spending, efficiency, and implementation progress.
  • Quantify potential savings, develop a prioritized cost-reduction pipeline, and support business cases for approved cost-cutting measures.
  • Present audit findings and recommendations to Program Management leadership, then help track actions, owners, timing, and realized savings through implementation.
  • Assess inventory-control practices for trackside parts, spares, consumables, and equipment; reconcile records to actual usage and identify opportunities to reduce excess, obsolete, or duplicate inventory.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Data Analytics, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Expected to graduate between December 2027 and May 2029.
  • Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the summer months.
  • Strong analytical, auditing, problem-solving, and process-improvement skills, with the ability to translate detailed data into practical business recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to organize data, build clear analyses, identify trends, and communicate recommendations effectively.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organization, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to work independently and across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with process auditing, cost accounting, budgeting, variance analysis, procurement controls, Lean or Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or business-case development.
  • Experience with financial or operational modeling, Power BI, dashboards, data visualization, or other analytical tools.
  • Experience in automotive, motorsports, manufacturing, supply chain, event operations, or a similarly fast-paced environment.
  • Experience developing executive-ready recommendations, presenting findings to leaders, or coordinating implementation across cross-functional teams or external partners.
