Work Arrangement:
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum.
Role Overview:
The LMS Specialist drives innovation and optimizes processes in GM’s enterprise learning landscape. This role leads the implementation and change management of new Learning Management Systems, requiring strong project management and teamwork.
The specialist provides strategic oversight, leverages data analysis to support the global learning technology roadmap, and manages complex data integrations for GM’s platforms. Success depends on global collaboration, critical thinking, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment, making this position vital to the ongoing advancement of GM’s learning solutions.
Responsibilities:

Drive daily operation of GM’s enterprise learning platforms, delivering consistent, high-quality support and optimal functionality for all users.

Comprehensive expertise of both Cornerstone SBX and Degreed platforms, encompassing advanced knowledge of their features, capabilities, and seamless operation within an enterprise learning environment.

Collaborate closely with Solutions Enablement and GM Information Technology teams to architect, implement, and launch essential projects that introduce innovative technologies and platforms, all designed to elevate and streamline the user experience.

Oversee and optimize the global portfolio of learning tools, systems, and business processes, ensuring seamless support for all learner groups across GM.

Ensure strict compliance with established standards and governance protocols to safeguard personal data, consistently aligning all business operations with Legal and Data Privacy requirements.

Conduct routine User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the Cornerstone SBX platform to ensure optimal system performance and seamless user experience.

Demonstrated proficiency in Learning Management System (LMS) security roles, including a comprehensive understanding of their assignment processes and best practices to ensure appropriate access and system integrity.

Collaborate proactively with Solutions Enablement and IT teams to oversee enhancement requests.

Serve as the primary reporting liaison for Tier 2 inquiries, providing expert guidance and timely resolution to complex requests.

Ensure seamless integration and optimal functionality between the Learning Management System (LMS) and Workday, proactively addressing any issues to maintain consistent and efficient user experience.

Engage with LMS/LXP Technical Support and external vendors to troubleshoot complex technical problems, coordinate bug fixes, and oversee the deployment of hotfixes or system patches during outages or malfunctions.

Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configuration records, troubleshooting protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Assess pre-release platform features through technical evaluation, identifying potential benefits, risks, and compatibility issues to inform organizational participation decisions.
Role Qualifications:

5-7+ years of professional experience, ideally handling complex, large-scale projects, including extensive involvement with multi-faceted data integrations (e.g., profile, training, functional, and country-specific data).

Experience with Cornerstone, Saba, Degreed, and Workday.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.

Analytical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in analyzing learning data, driving project development, implementing learning solutions, and measuring their effectiveness.

Project Management & Adaptability: Exceptional project management capabilities—detail-oriented, resourceful, and adept at managing multiple priorities simultaneously within dynamic environments.

Interpersonal & Relationship-Building Skills: Proven track record in creating best practices from the ground up to support diverse business processes and learning systems. Skilled in conflict resolution and cultivating strong relationships and networks to foster collaboration and shared best practices across business functions.

Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
Compensation:
The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position, as well as geography of the selected candidate.
