Work Arrangement:
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum.
Role Overview:
The Senior Manager, Intelligence, Investigations and Incident Management leads GM’s enterprise capabilities for threat intelligence, security investigations, security monitoring, and coordinated response to critical security incidents.
The role identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks to employees, assets, operations, and reputation through intelligence‑led analysis, disciplined investigative practices, and effective cross‑functional response coordination during high‑impact events.
The position serves as a trusted advisor to Global Security functional teams and senior leadership, providing timely insights and risk‑based decision support during emerging threats and critical situations.
The role partners closely with Legal, HR, Labor Relations, Compliance, IT, Communications, and external law enforcement and intelligence partners to ensure aligned and effective security outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Governance

Own enterprise strategy, policy, and governance for intelligence, investigations, GSOC operations, and critical incident response.

Establish and manage performance metrics and reporting to demonstrate effectiveness, trends, and continuous improvement.

Ensure alignment with GM Global Security standards, legal and regulatory requirements, and duty of care obligations.

Benchmark industry practices and integrate best‑in‑class capabilities, tools, and technologies.

Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, including HR, Legal, Cyber Security, Global Travel, and executive leadership.

Strengthen collaboration with law enforcement, federal agencies, and industry peers to enhance intelligence sharing and response effectiveness.

Promote a culture of disciplined execution, sound judgment, collaboration, and calm decision‑making under pressure.
Global Security Operations Center (GSOC)
-
Provide strategic oversight of the GSOC, delivering a resilient 24/7 global capability for threat monitoring, incident escalation, and coordinated response.

Establish GSOC operating standards, escalation thresholds, and playbooks to support timely, consistent, and risk‑based response.

Oversee GSOC performance metrics, staffing models, training, and use of enabling technology to drive reliability and resilience.

Ensure high‑quality incident documentation, situational awareness reporting, and leadership notifications.

Lead and manage external GSOC vendors, setting clear performance expectations and enforcing accountability through defined KPIs and SLAs.
Intelligence & Threat Analysis

Lead global threat intelligence and risk assessment capabilities supporting travel security, site risk management, executive protection, and business operations.

Assess and monitor geopolitical, criminal, workplace violence, insider risk, activist, and emerging threat trends impacting GM.

Translate intelligence into actionable insights, advisories, and mitigation recommendations for senior leaders and operating teams.

Provide regular leadership briefings on threat trends and emerging risks, including clear implications and recommended actions.

Partner closely with Protective Services to deliver tailored intelligence support for executives, including travel and event risk assessments, threat monitoring, and protective investigations.
Investigations and Critical Incident Response Coordination

Provide oversight of complex, sensitive, or high‑visibility security investigations.

Ensure investigations are conducted with appropriate governance, discretion, and due process, in close coordination with HR, Legal, Compliance, and Labor Relations as appropriate.

Identify systemic risk trends and recommend preventative actions based on investigative outcomes.

Provide senior‑level coordination and decision support during critical security incidents, ensuring effective cross‑functional response across Security Operations, Emergency Response, HR, Legal, IT, and Communications
Insider Threat Program

Develop and oversee physical security aspects of GM’s Insider Threat Program, ensuring early identification, assessment, and mitigation of insider risk.

Lead cross‑functional governance with HR, Legal, IT, Cyber, and Physical Security to balance security, privacy, and employee protections.
-
Periodically assess program effectiveness and evolve capabilities in response to emerging risk patterns.
Qualifications:
-
10+ years of progressive experience in corporate security, intelligence, investigations, law enforcement, military, or government with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.

Bachelor’s Degree required, ideally from an accredited university or college; Master’s Degree preferred.

Direct experience overseeing or partnering closely with a 24/7 operations center or monitoring function.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex investigations and coordinate enterprise‑level incident response.

Strong judgment, critical-thinking, decision making and executive presence during fast‑moving, high‑risk situations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive briefings.
-
Proven ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, and operate effectively at all organizational levels.

Established network with law enforcement agencies, federal partners, and private‑sector security organizations.
-
Strong strategic planning and program management capabilities.
-
Experience in a global, multinational environment preferred.

Familiarity with GSOC technology platforms, case management systems, and incident management tools preferred.

Availability to respond outside standard business hours to critical or emergent events required.
