The Role
The Global Purchasing & Supply Chain Rotational Program is for recent college graduates. Members of the GPSC TRACK (Technical Rotation and Career Knowledge) program will be rotating jobs every six months across the following pillars: Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain, and other business areas as needed for the first two years.
This entry-level rotational program begins in January or July of 2027.
Your role involves developing and implementing commercial strategies aimed at delivering value to customers. This includes ensuring timely delivery of high-quality parts and services at competitive costs for current and upcoming vehicle models. You will also cultivate robust cross-functional relationships internally and externally, emphasizing trust, transparency, and teamwork to drive growth and innovation. This position requires a high degree of self-motivation, analytical prowess, and independent decision-making due to the complex nature of the work involved.
The Team
Members of GM’s Entry-Level Global Purchasing & Supply Chain (GPSC) Rotational Program are responsible for procuring the goods and services essential for vehicle production and sustaining business operations through our global supply chain.
What You’ll Do
Members of the GPSC TRACK (Technical Rotation and Career Knowledge) program will be rotating jobs every six months across the below pillars and other business areas as needed for the first two years:
Purchasing

Source key parts, systems and technologies that go into GM vehicles and future EV products.

Partner with cross-functional teams to balance cost, quality, timing and innovation with suppliers.
Supply Chain

Plan and support vehicle/propulsion production so plants have the right parts at the right time.

Use data to help manage demand, material changes and day-to-day supply chain operations.
Logistics

Support inbound/outbound logistics, from parts arriving at plants to vehicles reaching customers.

Help design packaging, routes and logistics solutions that reduce cost and improve delivery performance.
Other Rotational Opportunities

Contribute to value chain, sustainability, accessories, aftermarket and supplier resiliency projects.

Gain exposure to strategy, planning, GM Energy and new business models shaping GM’s supply chain.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
-
Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Supply Chain, Purchasing, Logistics, Packaging, Procurement/ Acquisitions and Contract Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, General Engineering, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems

Must be graduating between December 2026 and June 2027

Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week during the summer months
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

Experience managing commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance

Demonstrated curiosity and aptitude for learning new AI-enabled tools and applying them in a business context.

Demonstrated skills in complex negotiations

Solid knowledge of contract law and its application to purchasing processes

Knowledge of procurement software and databases

Ability to work globally, independently, and in a self-directed manner

Work Arrangement :
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren Tech Center in Warren , MI three times per week three times per week, at minimum.
Rotational jobs may, at times, require travel (domestic or international).
