Description
Staff Program Intelligence Analyst
At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We’re turning today’s impossible into tomorrow’s standard – from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features.
Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.
The Role
We’re seeking a strategic, hands-on Staff-level individual contributor to set direction and deliver the future of Program Intelligence, analytics, and AI across the Program Management organization. This role operates at the intersection of enterprise data strategy, storytelling, and portfolio execution — enabling senior leadership to make faster, smarter decisions through trusted, high-quality, actionable insights. The successful candidate will work with broad autonomy, navigate significant ambiguity, and influence outcomes across organizational boundaries without direct authority.
You will define and advance the Program Intelligence strategy, establishing scalable patterns, standards, and governance for data products (dashboards, AI Agents, web applications, and analytics pipelines). You’ll work directly with PMO leaders and cross-functional partners to deliver high-impact, customer-facing capabilities and narratives that connect data to business outcomes. You will also raise the capability of the broader organization through mentoring, coaching, and reusable practices while remaining an individual contributor.
Why This Role Matters
GM’s vehicle portfolio is evolving faster than ever and demands sharper insight and tighter alignment across the enterprise. This role defines how Program Management measures what matters — turning data into the connective tissue between strategy, capacity, and execution. The impact of this role extends beyond individual deliverables: it establishes the intelligence capabilities, decision frameworks, and operating standards that enable leaders and teams to execute with greater clarity and speed.
What You’ll Do
-
Set the Program Intelligence & Reporting Strategy: Define and evolve the long-term vision, principles, operating model, and architecture for management information, reporting, analytics, and dashboards that support portfolio, capacity, and delivery decision-making.
-
Lead portfolio-scale data products: Direct the design and delivery of trusted, decision-grade dashboards, AI Agents, web applications, and reports that establish a durable source of truth for program health, capacity, and delivery performance.
-
Establish metrics and data governance: Create common definitions, measurement frameworks, data quality expectations, and governance practices that improve consistency, comparability, and confidence in enterprise decisions.
-
Architect analytics and AI solutions: Translate ambiguous, high-impact business needs into scalable data models, analytical products, AI-driven solutions, and reusable technical patterns in partnership with data engineering, IT, and product teams.
-
Influence executive decisions: Synthesize complex data and competing perspectives into clear narratives, recommendations, and decision frameworks that drive alignment and action at the senior leadership level.
-
Drive adoption and measurable value: Champion the use of Program Intelligence capabilities, assess adoption and business impact, and continuously improve products and practices based on customer feedback and evolving portfolio needs.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
-
5+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, analytics, data products, management reporting, or a related discipline, including experience leading complex, enterprise-level initiatives.
-
Advanced experience with SQL, Python, cloud analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks, AWS), and the development or application of AI-driven solutions in an enterprise environment.
-
Demonstrated success defining strategy and delivering scalable dashboards, reporting products, data pipelines, analytics platforms, or AI-enabled experiences using modern tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Databricks, or equivalent technologies.
-
Proven ability to connect metrics to business strategy and portfolio outcomes, translating operational data into executive-level insights, recommendations, and decision frameworks.
-
Exceptional communication, visualization, facilitation, and data storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior audiences and align stakeholders around complex decisions.
-
Recognized as a trusted advisor and thought leader who collaborates and influences across technical, product, and business stakeholders, aligns diverse perspectives around shared metrics and insights, and delivers results without direct authority.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
-
MBA or advanced degree in business, data science, computer science, engineering, or another quantitative discipline.
-
Background in large-scale technology, product, engineering, or enterprise transformation environments, with experience scaling data-driven decision frameworks and operating models.
-
Deep knowledge of data science, machine learning, generative AI, responsible AI, and the practical application of these capabilities to enterprise decision-making.
-
Demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous, enterprise-wide business needs into structured intelligence strategies, governed metrics, scalable reporting systems, and insight-driven products with measurable adoption and impact.
