Description
Own the integration of the Stamping Execution value stream from die and process concept through tryout, launch, and homeline delivery. The role connects Engineering, Design, Process Integration, Die Execution, Secondary Tryout, Planning, and Manufacturing Operations so that launch deliverables are achieved with predictable quality, throughput, timing, and plant readiness.
The role consolidates cross-functional accountability for complex integration work at our Secondary Tryout and homeline Stamping Facilities, while enabling consistent support across programs and sites through CI / Die Sustainment.
Core responsibilities
- End-to-end integration: Lead the die-to-press and tryout integration plan across design, simulation, die execution, secondary tryout, plant loading, and homeline delivery. Own and evolve the existing Global Launch Process deliverables for Stamping with our Manufacturing Operations partners.
- Launch performance: Integrate plant production requirements and T-event loading with Planning to assess launch-excellence criteria, forecast die-delivery cadence, and surface risks to schedule, capacity, and readiness.
- Pontiac STF and Parma alignment: Establish clear priorities, operating cadence, and escalation paths for Pontiac STF, Parma, and associated integration resources.
- Process standardization: Define, revise, and sustain standardized workflows for Pontiac STF, Parma, secondary tryout, T-events, R-events, virtual die books, and related execution deliverables.
- Technical feedback loops: Convert simulation, servo / transfer, EDC, die, press, and plant learnings into actionable updates to design standards, tryout methods, process plans, and launch requirements.
- Systemic learning: Identify recurring constraints—such as formability, ICR attainment, throughput, equipment capability, or die / press interfaces—and drive corrective action beyond an individual program.
- KPI ownership: Architect and maintain the performance measures, deliverable tracking, and joint Engineering / Execution KPIs needed to manage integration performance.
- Issue resolution: Lead cross-functional problem solving, make tradeoffs visible, and escalate decisions when schedule, capacity, quality, or launch timing is at risk.
Your other responsibilities will be:
- You will participate in the selection of new employees
- Train, develop and evaluate employees
- You will establish overall group objectives inline with organizational KPI's and initiatives
- Evaluate processes and procedures within area for continued development and potential digitization
- Establish and oversee required tooling activities or review and evaluate proposals for existing and new manufacturing processes
- You will develop long-range plans for improvements of processes and manufacturing activities
- Nearly constant contact with others outside the work group
- You will provide technical assistance to maintain manufacturing performance
- Maintain safety and good housekeeping standards
- You will also maintain Corporate and unit management control systems
