Working with Program Managers, Assistant Program Managers, studio partners, and other stakeholders, the intern will document current-state workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and help develop practical, repeatable ways of working.
The Team:
Program and Studio Management, together with Cross Vehicle Program Management, helps GMNA Design teams coordinate work, align to vehicle program milestones, and execute consistently across studios. The team connects people, processes, and information across Design and partner functions to support program readiness, clear ownership, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do:

· Work with stakeholders to understand and document workflows, handoffs, inputs, outputs, dependencies, and decision points.
· Create clear process maps, workflow diagrams, standard work, and supporting reference materials.
· Identify process gaps, duplicated effort, bottlenecks, and unclear ownership, then support practical future-state recommendations.
· Organize information from meetings and working sessions while maintaining action logs, decision logs, open items, and follow-up activities.
· Support updates to templates, gate-readiness materials, review tools, and status presentations used in continuous improvement activities.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
· Pursuit of a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in business, engineering, operations, industrial engineering, information systems, design, or a related field.
· Must be graduating between December 2027 and May 2029.
· Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the summer months.

· Ability to ask effective questions, listen carefully, and synthesize information from multiple stakeholders.
· Ability to organize ambiguous or evolving information into clear, structured outputs.
· Working knowledge of Google Workspace.
· Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet commitments, and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
· Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow through on open items.
What will give you a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
· Exposure to process improvement, business analysis, project management, operations, or organizational effectiveness.
· Experience creating flowcharts, swimlane diagrams, standard work, or other process documentation.
· Familiarity with continuous improvement concepts, including clarifying ownership and reducing unnecessary work.
· Experience supporting interviews, workshops, or working sessions.
· Experience with productivity, visualization, or process-mapping tools.
· Familiarity with automotive design, product development, or other complex program environments.
