Descrição

At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We’re turning today’s impossible into tomorrow’s standard —from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features.

Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.

The Role

Help shape the future of engineering by turning GVHE’s growing landscape of AI and automation into a clear portfolio of opportunities—from individual productivity aids to team-owned solutions and enterprise-scale candidates. In this role, you’ll use Value Stream Mapping and business insight to identify where technology can create the greatest impact, then turn those insights into compelling use cases, value propositions, and prioritized action.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to create and maintain a live inventory of the AI tools and agents that GVHE teams use, are building, or depend on.
  • Classify each asset as individual use, team or local scope, or a scale candidate, and flag duplicates that should be consolidated or stopped.
  • Estimate impact on engineering throughput, development speed, process efficiency, and quality. Use Value Stream Mapping and other performance measures where they exist, and a lighter impact hypothesis where they do not.
  • For each scale candidate, prepare a GVHE nomination that states the problem, current owner, target users, process impact, dependencies, risks, evidence of value, and what successful adoption means for GVHE.
  • Submit nominations to GEOS AI program management, and partner with R&D, GEOS, IT, and other stakeholders to confirm the use case, the owning team, and GVHE acceptance criteria.
  • Track each GVHE nomination through the GEOS or IT decision, and report milestones, dependencies, risks, and outcomes to GVHE leadership.
  • Establish a repeatable GVHE cadence for intake, classification, nomination, and reassessment as tools and ideas change.

Your Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in product development engineering, engineering operations, or program management (including Agile or product management) in an engineering or technical environment, with exposure to digital transformation or AI enablement.
  • Experience in engineering operations, process architecture, product development, or a related discipline, with exposure to digital transformation or AI enablement.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional work and driving results
  • Strong program management, stakeholder alignment, facilitation, communication, and executive presentation skills.
  • Working familiarity with generative AI, automation, data platforms, or enterprise technology, sufficient to tell a personal aid from a product.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority, manage ambiguity, and convert incomplete information into a clear plan of action.
