The Role:  

The Global Brand Protection team is responsible for protecting our physical assets and intellectual property against infringers using our trademarks, design patents, and copyrights without permission as this may cost loss of revenue and more importantly destroys brand equity, reputation and trust. 

The Brand Protection Analyst will be responsible to collect and analyze data from a varied range of sources to produce high-quality and relevant intelligence, information, and research of illegal intellectual property abuse of our global products and software. 

What You’ll Do:  

  • Monitor, evaluate, and classify search results to detect infringements based on internal parameters 

  • Analyze intellectual property infringements on marketplaces, private websites, and social networks 

  • Engage with internal and external counterparts to identify opportunities to proactively deter misuse of our IP and counterfeiting or our products and services 

  • Engage with the packaging team and the Global Brand Stewards council to facilitate the implementation of covert and overt security features, along with the implementation and enforcement of consistent brand guidelines across the globe 

  • Assist in the management of brand and IP protection cases at CCA including liaison with GM Brand Protection investigations team 

  • Support the industry affairs activities through A2C2- Automotive Anti-Counterfeiting Council. 

  • Assist in the development of IT strategies for software data protection 

  • Analyze new insights / initiatives that may be of interest to the organization 

  • Assist with identifying business strengths, weaknesses, data challenges, and issues, and makes recommendations on areas of improvement and projects to be undertaken 

  • Acts as a liaison between the business and law enforcement on cases 

  • Coordinates with the Business on project business value/return on investment analysis 

  • Identify and develop proactive measures to deter counterfeiters globally 

  • Develop training aids for law enforcement 

  • Conduct law enforcement training 

Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience 

  • 4+ years of experience in OEM aftermarket, anti-counterfeit, brand protection, or a related field

  • Ability to travel up to 35% 

  • Deep understanding of the automotive aftermarket and related sales and data analysis activities 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Google Workspace applications, including Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Drive 

  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate to audiences of all sizes 

  • Knowledge of marketplace monitoring and enforcement practices across online platforms 

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)  

  • Prior automotive service or law enforcement experience preferred; international experience is a plus 

  • Engineering or Automotive based bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 

  • Team Player with excellent organization, written and oral communication skills 

  • Strong interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally with business partners to meet mutual goal 

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex situations. 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and difficult projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results 

  • Strong data mining skills with the ability to identify trends and insights from large datasets.
