Position Summary
The Maintenance Continuous Improvement Lead is responsible for improving maintenance performance, equipment reliability, and process discipline within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role connects shop-floor maintenance execution with data, systems, and continuous improvement practices to drive safer operations, lower downtime, better PM effectiveness, and stronger accountability across the organization.
This position serves as a key resource for maintenance teams, leaders, and support functions by combining technical troubleshooting, maintenance systems knowledge, reporting capability, and operational follow-through. The role requires strong working knowledge of Maximo/CMMS, maintenance workflows, plant reporting tools, and continuous improvement methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on maintenance effectiveness, downtime reduction, PM optimization, and process stability.
- Use plant data, maintenance system information, and operating trends to identify losses, prioritize actions, and support performance improvement plans.
- Act as a subject matter resource for Maximo/CMMS processes, COGNOs reporting, and will act as the SME of the TPM section of the GMS CI Team.
- Support plant-wide troubleshooting and technical problem-solving by connecting equipment issues, historical information, and plant follow-up into practical corrective actions.
- Participate in plant-wide OEE/JPH meetings, maintaining heavy involvement with Maintenance projects and initiatives throughout the plant.
- Develop, improve, and reinforce maintenance expectations, work instructions, and process compliance across shifts and teams.
- Coach and support leaders and skilled trades on accountability, documentation, and execution of maintenance standards.
- Partner with operations, quality, engineering, and maintenance leadership to resolve chronic issues and improve plant performance.
- Help evaluate and implement tools, systems, and technologies that improve troubleshooting, training, simulation, reporting, automation, or AI-enabled workflows.
- Envision, build, and implement practical solutions with minimal guidance or intervention to address plant, maintenance, and reporting needs.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years experience in manufacturing maintenance, reliability, or continuous improvement.
- Advanced knowledge of Maximo or similar CMMS platforms, maintenance planning/control, and work process discipline.
- Experience with AI implementation and integration in support of maintenance, reporting, troubleshooting, or process improvement workflows.
- Strong experience with Cognos reporting, Power BI, and SQL coding to build, automate, and improve reporting and decision-support tools.
- Ability to analyze data and translate findings into clear actions that improve uptime, flow, and accountability.
- Ability to envision, develop, and implement effective solutions with little guidance or intervention.
- Experience supporting cross-functional teams in a production environment with competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to train, align, and influence both leadership and shop-floor teams.
- Practical problem-solving mindset with the ability to move between technical detail and high-level operational improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in die cast, high-volume manufacturing, or other equipment-intensive operations.
- Experience with downtime/OEE analysis, layered audits, standardized work, and plant performance systems.
- Familiarity with digital tools that support troubleshooting, technical documentation, simulation, automation, reporting, or AI-enabled workflows.
