General Motors Heritage Operations is seeking a Historic Vehicle Technician to support the management, maintenance, and presentation of GM’s Heritage Vehicle Collection, including antique, historic, design concept, specialty marketing, and race/pace vehicles. This role is responsible for ensuring these vehicles are properly maintained, operational, and show-ready in accordance with leadership direction.
This position will be located at the GM Heritage Center & Archive located in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Occasional travel may be required both locally and nationally to support vehicle operations, safeguard vehicle integrity, and assist with on-site presentations at shows and events but is not an essential part of the role. The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical expertise, including working with electric vehicles. While many vehicles are production examples, others are pre-production or one-of-a-kind prototype vehicles which must be handled with the highest level of care and attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams and external suppliers to support the Heritage Vehicle fleet, as well as work directly with GM executives and leadership in support of show events. Strong mechanical and electrical intuition, creativity, flexibility, and problem-solving skills are essential to ensure vehicles are maintained to the highest standards and perform flawlessly in high-visibility environments.
If you have a passion for automotive history, innovation, and craftsmanship—and enjoy working with iconic vehicles that showcase the past, present, and future of GM—we encourage you to apply.
