The Role:
Global Quality is seeking a highly driven Quality Systems Manager (Digital Quality Platforms & AI) to lead enterprise issue management systems, digital quality transformation initiatives, AI initiatives, and cross-functional process improvement efforts. This leader will shape the future of GM’s Quality Systems by owning end-to-end governance of critical tools, partnering across Engineering, Safety, IT, and Global Quality teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and user-centric solutions.
This is a high‑visibility leadership role with a direct impact on how GM identifies, manages, and resolves issues across Software, Hardware, Safety, Engineering, and Quality functions. You will shape the tools, data, and processes that safeguard GM customers, support global program execution, and drive continuous improvement across the enterprise.
What You’ll Do:
Enterprise Quality Systems & Tools Governance
- Own end-to-end governance of enterprise Quality platforms (issue management systems, analytics tools, and future-state digital solutions), ensuring scalability, reliability, and regulatory alignment.
- Define and enforce standards, workflows, and operating models across all Quality tools to drive consistency and data integrity globally.
- Establish governance for tool lifecycle management, release readiness, and cross-functional prioritization.
AI, Automation & Digital Quality Transformation
- Lead strategy, deployment, and value realization of AI-driven Quality solutions, intelligent automation, and advanced analytics tools.
- Identify and scale high-impact AI/automation use cases that improve issue detection, resolution speed, and customer outcomes.
- Drive transition from manual workflows to automated, insight-driven systems.
- Ensure AI solutions are trusted, explainable, and aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
Integrated Data, Analytics & Insights
- Own integration of Quality systems with enterprise data and analytics platforms to enable real-time visibility and predictive insights.
- Define data models, reporting standards, and metrics governance to ensure accuracy and decision readiness.
- Drive adoption of analytics and dashboards that translate data into actionable outcomes.
Cross-Functional Platform Leadership
- Lead alignment across Engineering, Software, Safety, IT, and Global Quality to unify systems and priorities.
- Act as single point of accountability for platform performance, issue resolution, and roadmap delivery.
- Drive enterprise-wide adoption of tools, standards, and best practices.
Continuous Improvement & Process Excellence
- Simplify and standardize Quality processes by eliminating redundancy and embedding automation.
- Lead modernization initiatives including legacy system transformation and platform consolidation.
- Establish culture of continuous improvement, speed, and operational discipline.
Talent & Capability Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing team across Quality Systems, AI, and analytics domains.
- Develop future-ready capabilities in AI, automation, and digital product ownership.
- Drive accountability for outcomes, innovation, and execution excellence.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 7+ years of experience in Quality Systems, Engineering, IT, Data analytics, Product Development, or a closely aligned technical or business-related field.
- Strong understanding of issue‑management processes and tools (PRTS, Jira, GIMS, or equivalents).
- Demonstrated success driving cross‑functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to translate business requirements into system workflows and technical direction.
- Excellent communication skills, with comfort presenting to senior leadership.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop talent.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including experience with statistical process control, emerging issue detection, root cause analysis, and structured resolution of complex technical problems.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Engineering, Quality, Data/Analytics, IT, or related discipline.
- Experience architecting and delivering Agentic AI solutions for decision support and improving execution efficiency.
- Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams.
- Experience leading large‑scale system implementations or migrations.
- Familiarity with data architecture, analytics platforms (Databricks, DAS, Power BI, QDAP), and real‑time data feed design.
- Global or multi‑region collaboration experience.
- Experience in automotive quality, safety processes, or software quality management.
- Experience utilizing telematics data to root cause and resolve vehicle quality issues.
- DFSS Master Black Belt.
