Global Capital Management Team is looking for a highly motivated and results driven Senior Financial Analyst to support Leadership decision making process to deliver EV, Innovation/Growth Strategy of General Motors through best allocation of capital resources.
The analysis and execution team member will be responsible for maintaining capital forecasts across a diverse portfolio of programs/projects. Works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, GPSC, and Program Finance Team to deliver monthly capital forecast and annual budget. Support internal/external capital targets by driving capital forecast accuracy across all responsible areas and working cross functionally to mitigate risk. Successful candidates should possess financial analysis experience with strong analytical and technical skills, including independent judgement, decision-making, accuracy, creativity, and self-starter attitude.
What You'll Do

Monthly capital cash forecast for responsible projects/programs including the following general categories: Full-size trucks/SUVs, Crossovers, Battery Electric Vehicles/Trucks, Autonomous Vehicles, Performance Vehicles, Propulsion/Powertrain, Corporate Common Components, Lifecycle Improvement initiatives, Tooling Refurbishment, and Accessories

Work closely/develop relationships with Engineering, Manufacturing, GPSC, and Program Finance Team to deliver forecast accuracy and understanding of risks and opportunities

Develop value-add monthly reporting that focuses on operational actions that can be taken to impact the capital forecast, rather than simple reporting of forecast and variances

Solve complex problems and develop methods of financial analysis to streamline decision making

Support strategic initiatives (working with Planning, Capital Strategy team, and Portfolio Planning Finance) to optimize capital efficiency via capital timing studies or benchmarking

Participate in a collaborative/inclusive environment with capital management peers focused on continuous improvement and career development

Strong first-time quality as forecast timeline is often constrained and many ad-hoc analyses are reported to senior leadership
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered

5+ years of financial or related experience

Knowledge of corporate finance principles including ability to perform balance sheet analysis, income statement analysis, cash flow statement analysis, etc.

Experience with common financial tools: ROI, NPV

Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills

Strong modeling and financial valuation skills

Familiarity with accounting principles

Location: Hybrid. This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the - Global HQ Warren MI three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business]
