Description
The Role
Global Manufacturing Electrical & SDV is looking for innovators who thrive in tough challenges and are passionate about tackling meaningful work that will shape the future of the automotive industry. This isn’t a role for those looking for an easy path—it’s for those who embrace change, push through obstacles, and take ownership of complex problems. While there will be long days and moments that test your resilience, you’ll find purpose in your work, flexibility to prioritize your family, and the support of a people-first culture. If you’re ready to grow, thrive, and make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.
The GM Automotive Manufacturing Electrical College (AMEC) Cohort is a one-year development and placement program designed to prepare employees for future Launch Electrical Team roles at GM manufacturing facilities across North America. Participants will complete a structured combination of classroom learning, hands-on plant experience, and supplier visits before being placed into an electrical manufacturing role at a GM plant. Relocation assistance will be provided for the assigned placement. This is a three-year program.
AMEC is an immersive training program that builds the technical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills required to support electrical quality, launch readiness, and manufacturing performance. During the one-year program, participants will gain exposure to the core Launch Electrical disciplines represented by the AMEC pathway, including electrical process and in-process testers, software and module breakpoint coordination, wiring, launch electrical coordination, and electrical diagnostics.
Following successful completion of the program, participants will be placed in a role aligned to their capabilities and business needs at one of GM’s vehicle assembly or related manufacturing facilities in North America. The AMEC experience provides on-the-job preparation before placement so participants can contribute effectively to plant launch and electrical quality objectives.
