Description
About the role
The People Experience Technology team is seeking a project delivery leader to support HR technology initiatives and business-as-usual operations. This role will bring structure, momentum, and transparency to a portfolio of projects and operational work while partnering closely with HR, technology, product, engineering, and vendor stakeholders.
The ideal candidate combines strong project management discipline with practical Agile delivery experience. Depending on the initiative, you may serve as a project manager, Scrum Lead, or delivery lead—helping teams prioritize work, manage dependencies, resolve risks, and deliver outcomes that improve the employee and HR experience.
What you’ll do
- Lead end-to-end delivery of HR technology projects, enhancements, integrations, and process improvements from intake through implementation and transition to support.
- Partner with HR business stakeholders, product owners, technology teams, vendors, and leadership to define objectives, scope, milestones, success measures, and delivery plans.
- Establish clear governance and operating rhythms, including status reporting, planning sessions, stakeholder reviews, risk and issue management, and decision tracking.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives when serving as Scrum Lead.
- Help teams maintain healthy backlogs by clarifying priorities, documenting requirements, identifying acceptance criteria, and coordinating refinement with product owners and delivery partners.
- Coordinate dependencies across teams, systems, vendors, releases, testing, data, security, change management, and production support.
- Manage business-as-usual work, including operational intake, prioritization, incident follow-up, recurring enhancements, release coordination, and continuous improvement.
- Track delivery progress, risks, issues, decisions, actions, capacity, and vendor commitments as appropriate.
- Translate complex technical or operational topics into clear updates and recommendations for business stakeholders and leadership.
- Promote consistent delivery practices, continuous improvement, and a customer-focused approach across the HR technology portfolio.
- Support change readiness, communications, training coordination, and post-launch stabilization for impacted HR teams and employees.
What you’ll bring
- Experience leading technology projects, product delivery, operational work, or Agile teams in a complex enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities across project work and BAU responsibilities.
- Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, organization, and decision-making skills.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams that may include business partners, product managers, analysts, engineers, testers, vendors, and support teams.
- Working knowledge of project management and Agile delivery practices, including planning, estimation, backlog management, dependency tracking, risk management, and retrospectives.
- Ability to create clear project plans, status updates, RAID logs, action trackers, meeting outcomes, and executive-ready communications.
- Ability to identify ambiguity, bring structure to complex work, and move decisions forward in a collaborative manner.
- Experience supporting technology implementations, enhancements, integrations, or production operations.
- Comfort working with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred qualifications
- 5+ years of work experience supporting HR, employee experience, payroll, talent, learning, recruiting, workforce management, or other enterprise business systems.
- Experience serving as a project manager, delivery lead, or equivalent role.
- Familiarity with enterprise HR technology ecosystems, system integrations, data flows, testing, release management, and production support.
- Experience working with external vendors or managed service providers.
- Project management or Agile certification, such as PMP, CSM, PSM, SAFe, or equivalent.
- Experience with common delivery and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
Success in this role
Within the first year, success will include:
- Establishing trusted partnerships with HR, technology, product, and vendor stakeholders.
- Improving visibility into project milestones, BAU priorities, risks, dependencies, and decisions.
