Descrição

Global Manufacturing Electrical & SDV is looking for engineers who want to solve complex, real-world manufacturing challenges at scale. This role sits at the center of electrical quality and production—working across global plants to improve build standards, reduce defects, and ensure every vehicle meets GM’s expectations from day one.
You’ll partner directly with manufacturing teams, engineering, and suppliers to translate standards into execution—playing a key role in improving quality, reducing warranty, and enabling consistent, high-quality electrical builds across GM’s global footprint.

WHY:
Improve electrical build quality across GM’s global manufacturing network by standardizing processes that prevent defects before they occur—reducing warranty, increasing first-time quality (EFTQ), and ensuring consistent execution across plants.

WHAT:
Serve as a subject matter expert in electrical manufacturing processes, driving the adoption and execution of Bill of Operations (BoO) standards across assembly plants. This role focuses on improving quality outcomes by aligning teams to proven processes, identifying gaps, and enabling consistent, scalable execution.

HOW:
Work directly with plants, engineering, suppliers, and quality teams to implement and refine electrical manufacturing standards—using data, plant feedback, and hands-on engagement to improve processes, strengthen testing and validation, and drive measurable gains in EFTQ and warranty performance.

Work Arrangement – Onsite
The successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren Tech Center on a full-time basis. This role requires ~50% domestic and international travel.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
  • Update, maintain, and communicate electrical BoO standards to ensure clarity and consistent execution
  • Partner with vehicle assembly plants to drive adoption and implementation of electrical manufacturing processes
  • Identify gaps in plant execution and implement corrective actions, standardized work, and error-proofing improvements
  • Use quality data (EFTQ, warranty, defect trends) to prioritize initiatives and measure impact
  • Develop and execute action plans to achieve EFTQ targets and ensure BoO compliance
  • Collaborate across manufacturing, engineering, suppliers, and quality to drive alignment and continuous improvement

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical manufacturing, product engineering, or quality within a high-volume production environment (automotive preferred)
  • Hands-on exposure to vehicle electrical systems (e.g., harnessing, modules, connectivity, end-of-line validation/testing)
  • Experience resolving production or quality issues using structured problem-solving and root cause analysis
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and tools (PFMEA, Control Plans, standardized work, layered audits, or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and drive actionable solutions in fast-paced production environments
  • Proven effectiveness collaborating cross-functionally to drive alignment and execution
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to drive adoption of standards across teams or plants
  • Willingness and ability to travel (~50%) and support on-site plant execution

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Vehicle program launch experience
  • Vehicle assembly manufacturing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
