The Role -
The Engineering Operations Lead is responsible for leading operational processes, and execution support across engineering activities, with a primary focus on Business Intelligence process leadership and project coordination to enable efficient engineering operations and support business decisions.
Approximately 70% of the role focuses on serving as a Business Intelligence (BI) Process Lead, including process development, acquisition and management of competitor vehicles and other resources, and execution of BI projects. The role also contributes to the collection, analysis, and reporting of industry, market, and regulatory intelligence.
Approximately 30% of the role focuses on SW Project Management including coordination with GMNA SW VSE on the VeSCoM update plan for China variant, coordination of HW retrofit and SW upgrades (OTA), and support for aftersales issue root-cause analysis and solution development.
What You’ll Do -
- Business Intelligence Process Lead & Project Execution (70%)
- Lead the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of Business Intelligence-related operational processes.
- Establish and manage workflows to support efficient execution of BI projects and initiatives.
- Coordinate the acquisition, allocation, and management of vehicles and other engineering resources required for BI project execution.
- Execute BI projects by aligning cross-functional stakeholders, and resolving operational issues.
- Support intelligence collection related to industry trends, technology developments, and regulatory updates. Consolidate findings into clear reports and presentations to support engineering and business decision-making.
- Ensure process discipline, execution quality, and timely delivery across assigned activities.
- SW Project Management (30%)
- Act as the counterpart with GMNA SW VSE on the vehicle SW update plan for China variant.
- Support China aftersales issue root-cause analysis and solution development to improve issue resolution efficiency and quality.
- Track project milestones, dependencies, risks, and action items to ensure timely execution of T1SUV maintenance activities.
- Facilitate communication within Engineering and among Engineering, quality and CCA to drive alignment and implementation.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field.
- Solid experience in engineering operations, project management, process management, or business intelligence support.
- Proven ability to develop and optimize processes in a cross-functional engineering environment.
- Familiarity with vehicle software maintenance and upgrade.
- Understanding of automotive market, industry, and regulatory intelligence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to convert information into actionable insights. Experience in supporting root-cause analysis and corrective action tracking for aftersales issues is preferred.
- Strong communication and reporting skills in both written and verbal English.
- Ability to manage operational details while maintaining visibility of broader business and engineering objectives.
