About the Role:

The Design Lead Technical (DLT) provides technical leadership, daily work direction, and project coordination for a team of Designers within the Bumper, Fascia, Grille & Trim organization. This role is responsible for developing and driving high-quality math-based design solutions that meet complex system and subsystem requirements while ensuring successful vehicle integration across all phases of the Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP).

The DLT applies advanced technical expertise, sound engineering judgment, and creative problem-solving to develop and implement virtual vehicle integration solutions that support program objectives for quality, timing, cost, manufacturability, and performance. This position requires a high degree of independence, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership in the execution of design deliverables.

  • Providing expertise on GVDP requirements, math fidelity expectations, and Global Math Fidelity Template deliverables.
  • Supporting the integration of subsystem designs into overall vehicle systems.
  • Conducting design studies, evaluating alternatives, and providing technical recommendations to support program decisions.
  • Driving quality and timing of design releases to ensure compliance with GVDP milestones and program deliverables.
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues while balancing system requirements, manufacturing constraints, cost targets, and vehicle performance objectives.
