The Role
The Pre-Production Electrical Diagnostician supports the Global Artisan Innovation Center (G AIC ) in vehicle processing, electrical end-of-line (EOL) diagnostics, and issue resolution during new program pre-production phases leading into launch. The Diagnostician supports PPTB, PTB, MEV, and EVC build events, along with early integration activities, ensuring electrical issues are identified, validated, and resolved prior to plant launch readiness for VIP/SDV programs.
What You’ll Do

Support new program pre-production and launches (VIP/SDV) by diagnosing electrical issues, driving solutions, validating fixes, and ensuring readiness throughout build events

Lead EOL troubleshooting using diagnostic tools (V-Spy) and partner with Electrical IRT, GCA, and UAW repair teams to drive issues to closure

Use plant systems (MERS, PRTS/JIRA, SPPS) to document failures, track containment actions, and provide accurate status updates

Analyze and correlate results across EOL test systems (Flash, Static, AVT, DVT) to improve electrical performance and protect plant launch EFTQ

Lead or support disconnect workshops (MEV events), lessons learned, standardized work updates, and repair knowledge documentation

Partner with Launch Managers to support program readiness reviews and communicate electrical first-time quality and top concerns

Support Lab Check UAW repair technicians and new diagnosticians on diagnostic tools, troubleshooting techniques, and repair documentation

Support production assembly plant during launch events (some travel is required, <25% travel is typically required)

Support GAIC second shift UAW Lab Check on a rotating schedule
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
-
1+ year of experience with automotive electrical systems, diagnostics, or EOL testing
-
Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical faults using diagnostic tools (e.g., V-Spy/DPS)

Experience supporting program management activities such as readiness reviews, build event preparation, cross-functional coordination, or tracking issue closure against timelines

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to root cause complex issues

Effective communication skills with the ability to translate technical detail into clear, concise updates

Self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong decision-making capability
Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent experience
-
Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in any field
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

Experience in an automotive manufacturing plant environment (Electrical or Plant Floor Operations)

Exposure to DVT, AVT, EOL test systems, test tools or electrical engineering principles

Experience supporting UAW-represented environments or plant repair teams

Understanding of manufacturing requirements and how they impact the build process

Working knowledge of GMS and support of BIQ4 deliverables
Compensation:
The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position, as well as geography of the selected candidate.
The salary range for this role is $80,200 - $125,900. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
