The Role:
The GM Defense (GMD) Finance Planning & Analysis group’s primary responsibility is to support the GMDs leadership team to achieve financial commitments on current and future products, while continuing to investigate emerging opportunities to grow the business.
In the Senior FP&A Analyst role, we provide consolidated monthly financial performance for GMD and report outs to the GMD SLT and GM LLC. We also support the GMD forecast/budget/LTP. Given the fast-paced nature of this space there will be frequent opportunities to support special projects/analysis and get exposure to senior leadership.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
- Consolidate and report monthly GMD forecast to GM LLC
- Support the annual budget process and LTP
- Manage deliverables to corporate FP&A teams including EBIT bridges and EBIT-to-FCF walk, and fixed cost analysis
- Support the GMD team in strategic decisions and consolidate monthly financials for monthly operating reviews with the GMD Leadership team
- Understand and apply macro-economic, competitive, market, and other non-financial factors to evaluate GM Defense’s performance
- Participation in the development of long-term strategies and corresponding financial plans
- Understand and assess the threats & opportunities to GM Defense’s strategy
- Support or lead special projects as needed to support GM Defense
Yours Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge and familiarity with financial reporting/accounting concepts
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other office products
- Hyperion and SAP Experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong collaboration and communication skills within Finance/Controllership and with operating partners

- Knowledge of finance principles including ability to perform balance sheet analysis, net income statement analysis, cash flow statement analysis, etc.
- Financial modeling and valuation skills
- AI and data analysis experience
- Comfortable presenting to GM Senior Management
- Ability to story tell and distil complex scenarios to leadership
- Familiarity on government contract requirements
- SAP Deployment Experience
