The Role
As a Global Customer Research Sr. Analyst, you’ll lead advanced quantitative research that informs vehicle contenting and trim-level strategy, serving as a trusted advisor across GM.
You’ll design and execute primary research studies using conjoint-based tools and internal analytics platforms to turn customer preferences and profitability data into clear, actionable recommendations for Product Marketing, Program Teams, Finance, and other partners.
This role is ideal for a curious, consultative researcher who thrives on managing multiple priorities and translating complex data into business impact to ensure the Voice of the Customer is heard.
What You’ll Do
Drive business impact through content optimization research

Lead end-to-end market research studies that inform trim-level and feature content strategies by model, balancing profitability, customer value, and complexity.

Manage research supplier relationships and coordinate study timing, design, and deliverables to align with the GVDP and key decision points operating with minimal oversight.

Perform data outputs and scenario modeling using the in-house analysis platform.
Build insights and tell the story

Synthesize research findings, business case impacts, and customer insights into concise narratives and visualizations that clearly lay out trade‑offs and recommended paths forward.

Drive alignment and influence decisions in cross-functional meetings and leadership forums, representing the customer perspective while accounting for stakeholder constraints and objectives.
Partner across functions

Work with Product Marketing, Program Teams, Finance, Planning, Data Science, and Engineering to ensure study design, inputs, and outputs are grounded in both customer insight and financial reality.

Provide market model data and visuals for customer, feature, and vehicle insight briefs in collaboration with Global Customer Research colleagues.
Operational excellence and continuous improvement

Showcase Vehicle Content Optimization research capabilities in key forums to expand awareness and apply market model data to new use cases.

Contribute to continuous improvement by evolving the in-house analysis platform, streamlining processes, and enhancing standards and documentation.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
-
5+ years of market/customer research experience, with a strong focus on quantitative methods (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered).

Advanced analytical and data-management skills, including work with large datasets and translating outputs into clear business insights and recommendations.

Excellent communication and storytelling skills; able to simplify complex analyses and present confidently to program teams and leadership audiences.

Strong project and stakeholder management skills; able to manage multiple priorities and influence cross-functionally.

Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and comfortable using AI productivity tools to improve efficiency and insight generation.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

Working knowledge of a variety of research and analytics platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, mTab, SPSS, R/Python, Tableau, and similar).

Advanced Excel proficiency (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas, basic macros/VBA).

Experience in conjoint methodologies (choice-based and/or adaptive) and advanced analytical techniques (e.g., TURF, elasticity modeling, MaxDiff, segmentation)
