Korea is home to GM's largest technology center outside of the U.S. and is GM's leading platform innovator for EVs and autonomous vehicles. GM Korea Manufacturing Plant
GM Korea produces high-quality vehicles by applying GM's global production system, GMS. It produces 500,000 finished cars and 300,000 KD cars and sells them to more than 150 countries around the world; and based on its excellent quality, GM Korea is promoting them as GM's base for developing light and small cars. GM Korea produces finished cars, KD, engines and transmissions at its Bupyeong, Changwon and Boryeong operations.
GMTCK Product Engineering
The Product Engineering team in Korea is part of GM’s global engineering center and is responsible for developing and engineering vehicles for the global market across all our brands. We oversee and support the overall process of vehicle development – from as early as part development to the performance of assembled vehicles. With a concentration on both internal combustion engine vehicles and electric vehicles, we work with a variety of functions such as Design and Manufacturing Engineering while incorporating the latest technologies. As GM moves from being a traditional car manufacturer to a platform innovator, there is strong focus on developing new technology to lead our vehicles into the future.
GMTCK Design Center
GMTCK Design Center has one of the best facilities among GM’s global design centers and is part of GM’s global design footprint. It houses a full team consisting of vehicle designers, digital designers, clay sculptors and design business operators who have been involved with some of our best global product designs. As GM moves towards our Triple Zero vision, we push design boundaries and drive innovation in the way we design through utilizing technology.
The Cheongna Proving Ground
GM's Cheongna Proving Ground has 36 global-class driving test reactors and the world's first test laboratory with state-of-the-art facilities to test and develop various products such as driving performance, noise/vibration, stability, and convenience of new cars.
Diversity at GM Korea
GM Korea's Diversity Council has been enhancing equity in the workplace by conducting various global programs such as social responsibility activities related to diversity and inclusion, networking between organizations, and fostering talent development.
