Description
Ensure continuity of Materials/GSC operations by coordinating unionized personnel, controlling material flow, and complying with safety, quality, and operational response standards, guaranteeing proper supply to production areas and inventory control through FIFO, min/max levels, and material systems tracking.
Executes deliverables in support of the organization’s supply chain business objectives. Leads one of the key areas within the global supply chain to ensure business objectives are met or exceeded across customer initiatives, quality, service, responsiveness, people, product, and financial targets. The role communicates across all levels of the organization, within the function and cross-functionally, as well as with suppliers, and supports the management of logistics and service provider relationships.
- Ability to understand and assess complex supply chain issues and lead cross-functional teams to successfully resolve them while minimizing impact on vehicle production.
- Evaluate supplier schedules and their impact on vehicle assembly production.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to develop creative solutions.
- Ability to summarize critical issues with resolutions and communicate with leadership.
- Manage highly complex capacity constraint issues to prevent plant disruptions and reduce premium freight.
- Analyze metrics supporting supplier issues or sufficiency plan resolution.
- Flexibility to work extended hours when needed to ensure issue resolution.
- Ability to address complex problems and implement new, innovative strategies.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain functions.
Requirements:
- Relevant degree: Industrial Engineering, International Business, International Trade, or related experience.
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in a GSC (Global Supply Chain) area.
- Availability to work 3 shifts (day, night, and mixed on a 4x3 schedule).
- Intermediate-Advanced English (mandatory).
- Teamwork skills.
- Experience managing hourly personnel.
- Knowledge of MGO system.
- Inventory management, receiving, and shipping experience.
- Strong sense of urgency and ownership.
- Excellent task management skills.
- Conflict management.
