Staff Technical Program Manager, Vendor Management & Supply Chain

At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We’re turning today’s impossible into tomorrow’s standard – from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features.

Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.

The Role

We are seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager (TPM) – Vendor Management & Supply Chain to lead supplier execution across next-generation vehicle, compute, sensor, and software platforms.

In this role, you will manage a complex ecosystem of strategic partners supporting autonomous vehicle and software-defined vehicle (SDV) development, ensuring alignment across hardware, embedded software, platform infrastructure, and vehicle integration milestones.

You will operate at the center of Vehicle Engineering, Compute & Sensor Hardware, Embedded Software, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and AV Platform Development – driving execution from early concept through production launch.

Your impact will be critical in scaling future autonomous and connected platforms by ensuring supplier deliverables, technical dependencies, and integration activities are aligned to program milestones, quality targets, and launch readiness.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end-to-end execution across strategic suppliers supporting vehicle platforms, AV systems, and SDV programs

  • Own supplier timelines, technical dependencies, risks, and escalation paths across hardware, software, and infrastructure

  • Ensure supplier deliverables align with engineering milestones, validation gates, and production readiness targets

  • Drive operating rigor through supplier reviews, performance tracking, and structured issue resolution

  • Manage escalations, recovery plans, and executive communications to keep programs on track

  • Track supplier performance across schedule, quality, integration readiness, and cost

  • Coordinate onboarding, development milestones, validation readiness, and engineering change management

  • Partner with Purchasing and Supply Chain to inform sourcing strategies, mitigate risk, and enable platform scalability

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 15+ years leading complex technical programs, supplier management, or systems engineering initiatives

  • Proven experience managing strategic suppliers in automotive, aerospace, robotics, or distributed systems environments

  • Strong understanding of embedded systems, compute platforms, vehicle E/E architecture, and software platforms

  • Demonstrated success driving hardware-software integration with external vendors and cross-functional teams

  • Expertise in managing dependencies, schedule risk, and technical escalations

  • Experience partnering with Purchasing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Engineering organizations

  • Deep understanding of product development lifecycles, validation, and production launch readiness

  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous, and highly technical environments

What will give you a competitive edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience supporting Autonomous Vehicle (AV) or Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) programs

  • Background managing suppliers across compute platforms, sensors, networking, or embedded systems

  • Familiarity with AV software pipelines, CI/CD, and release management processes

  • Experience with hardware bring-up, validation labs, HIL environments, or system integration testing

  • Exposure to sensor stack integration (camera, radar, lidar)

  • Experience managing global supplier ecosystems and complex escalations

  • Background in diagnostics, middleware, firmware, or platform infrastructure

  • Experience supporting advanced driver assistance or autonomy deployments (L2+/L3)
