Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as onsite. this means the successful candidate to report to the GM office full time.

The Role:
The Material Planner applies supply chain principles and GM Manufacturing System tools to ensure material availability, optimize inventory, and support uninterrupted production. The role independently leads planning and follow-up initiatives, acts as a liaison across purchasing, engineering, warehousing/manufacturing, logistics, and suppliers, and delivers measurable improvements in supply chain performance, responsiveness, and cost.

What You'll Do:
Planning

  • Review monthly SAP plans and investigate and resolve SAP deviations for MRP runs at the part level.

  • Release and communicate delivery plans to local suppliers and update them timely based on the latest production sequence.

  • Receive and analyze imported material data for all local material and process material; report risk items with deep action plans in alignment with suppliers to close gaps.

  • Develop and maintain manpower and material operating plans based on takt time, demand, and production schedules to ensure optimal inventory levels.

Follow-Up

  • Review the daily shortage report across all production lines and follow up at part level with local suppliers to confirm timely delivery.

  • Establish, modify, and monitor shipping of in-consignment material (CKD, Local, and PM).

  • Support local suppliers by coordinating with overseas suppliers and source plants to recover high-risk shipments.

  • Closely monitor material expiry and drive corrective actions to prevent waste and line impact.

Reporting

  • Confirm and issue SPPSs (Supplier Practical Problem Solving) for late delivery issues.

  • Report delivery violations and follow up on supplier action plans to eliminate recurrence.

  • Report and escalate high-risk supply issues with structured action plans.

  • Track and report supplier KPIs to leadership and global teams.

  • Track and report capacity issues, identifying risks and mitigation paths.

  • Design and implement metrics to monitor supply chain performance and identify operational risk areas.



Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Educational and Experience Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in material planning, supply chain, or operations management.

  • Experience applying lean and structured problem-solving tools to drive waste elimination and risk mitigation.

  • Proven history of managing supplier relationships and delivering supply continuity improvements.

Technical Skills

  • SAP MRP planning, deviation investigation, and delivery plan management.

  • Takt time analysis and demand-driven material planning.

  • Inventory management, including in-consignment and CKD/Local/PM material tracking.

  • Supplier KPI tracking, capacity planning, and performance reporting.

  • Shortage and risk identification, escalation, and closure management.

  • Microsoft Office & Power Apps.

Competencies

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, purchasing, logistics, and support teams.

  • Clear and effective communication of supply chain information to all stakeholder levels.

  • Ability to influence and drive change without direct authority.

  • Strong stakeholder management and supplier relationship-building skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
