Description

The role

As a member of the Connected Experience and Agentic Systems Research lab, you will be part of the Information Displays and Optics team and the Connected Immersive Experience (CIX) research program.

This role supports research program execution across the CIX research portfolio through a combination of project coordination, research support, presentation development, prototype preparation, and UX design contribution. It is designed for a candidate who can bring strong organization, communication, and design capabilities while also contributing to the development of future in-vehicle experiences.

In this position, you will help organize and advance research activities, create polished materials that communicate technical work clearly, support demonstration and prototype preparation, and contribute to concept development for head up display information displays and related interface experiences across the CIX research program.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a highly talented cross-disciplinary team while building strong experience at the intersection of research operations, UX design, concept development, and future mobility experiences.

What you'll do

  • Support day-to-day execution of research program activities across the CIX portfolio, including coordinating meetings, organizing materials, tracking action items, and helping maintain momentum across multiple parallel efforts

  • Prepare high-quality presentations, visuals, and supporting documents that clearly communicate research goals, concepts, findings, and recommendations to internal stakeholders

  • Help prepare research demonstrations, prototypes, and storytelling materials for internal reviews, leadership updates, and other showcase opportunities

  • Contribute to the design of head up display information displays, interface concepts, and related user experience explorations for future vehicle systems

  • Assist with user research preparation, synthesis, and documentation, including helping organize findings, identify pain points, and translate insights into actionable design directions.

  • Support the creation of wireframes, layouts, design concepts, and prototypes for internal tools, display concepts, and other CIX research activities.

  • Help create physical or digital prototypes that make research ideas more tangible and testable

  • Work across research, design, engineering, and program stakeholders to help refine needs, coordinate deliverables, and improve the overall effectiveness of project execution

  • Contribute to internal documentation, system guides, and design recommendations that help research outputs become more actionable and reusable

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human centered design and engineering, human factors, UX design, interaction design, psychology, business, or a related field.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and present information clearly

  • Experience supporting administrative, coordination, or operational activities in a professional setting

  • Experience with UX methods such as user research, interviews, surveys, usability testing, synthesis, or design strategy

  • Ability to turn ambiguous needs into clear materials, design directions, or organized next steps

  • Ability to create polished visual materials and presentations for professional or academic audiences

  • Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams while also independently driving defined tasks to completion

  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard for quality in both written and visual deliverables

  • Demonstrated initiative, follow-through, and willingness to support a broad range of team needs

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Miro, Framer, or related design tools

  • Experience with front-end or technical prototyping tools such as React, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Firebase, Python, or SQL

  • Experience building functional prototypes, including physical or digital prototypes

  • Exposure to user-centered design in real-world product or service settings, including identifying customer pain points and proposing implementable solutions

  • Interest in automotive UX, information displays, head up display concepts, or future mobility experiences

  • Experience helping prepare demos, reviews, showcases, or other presentation-oriented artifacts

  • Evidence of leadership, initiative, or strong team contribution
