Position Summary
The Global Security Operations and Intelligence Manager is a key leadership role within GM Global Security, responsible for integrating global security operations, intelligence, and incident management into a unified, high-performing capability. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Intelligence, Investigations and Incident Management, this role is responsible for building, scaling, and optimizing GM’s Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) and maturing the enterprise’s intelligence and incident management capabilities. This position is based in Warren, MI.
Key Responsibilities
GSOC Leadership and Incident Management

Lead the development, scale-up, and ongoing optimization of the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) to support a resilient, globally integrated operating model.

Establish 24/7 global capability for threat monitoring, incident detection, escalation, and coordinated response across the enterprise.

Refine and govern GSOC operating standards, escalation thresholds, and response playbooks to drive consistency, quality, and alignment with enterprise risk priorities.

Oversee day-to-day operational effectiveness of the GSOC through performance metrics, staffing models, training programs, and enabling technologies that support operational resilience.

Ensure delivery of high-quality incident documentation, timely leadership notifications, and clear situational awareness reporting during emerging and active events.

Drive continuous improvement in incident management processes, workflows, and tools to enhance speed, clarity, coordination, and decision support.

Partner across Global Security and key business stakeholders to strengthen crisis readiness, response integration, and post-incident learning.
Intelligence and Threat Analysis

Lead and continuously enhance global intelligence and risk assessment capabilities supporting travel security, site operations, executive protection, and broader business priorities.

Create seamless integration between Intelligence and Security Operations functions to ensure threat insights drive timely decisions, coordinated response, and effective risk mitigation.

Translate intelligence reporting into clear, actionable advisories, risk mitigation strategies, and decision support for senior leadership and key business partners.

Elevate intelligence products and services to better meet business needs by improving relevance, usability, responsiveness, and alignment with stakeholder priorities.

Deliver executive briefings that clearly define threat implications, business impact, and recommended courses of action.

Integrate closely with Protective Services to deliver tailored intelligence support for executives, including travel risk, event security, and protective investigations.

Establish high standards for analytic rigor, relevance, and responsiveness to strengthen enterprise decision-making and operational preparedness.
Vendor and Program Governance

Oversee vendor strategy, performance, and governance for GSOC and intelligence-related services, ensuring accountability, service quality, and alignment to business requirements.

Enforce adherence to key performance indicators, service level agreements, and contractual expectations through structured oversight and performance management.

Identify opportunities to strengthen capability, efficiency, scalability, and resilience through process improvement, technology enablement, and external partnerships.

Support strategic planning, roadmap development, and investment prioritization for GSOC and intelligence capabilities.

Required Qualifications
-
7+ years of progressive experience in corporate security, intelligence, investigations, law enforcement, military, or government with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in security, intelligence, criminal justice, international affairs, emergency management, risk management, or a related field.

Experience leading or maturing 24/7 operations, incident escalation frameworks, and cross-functional response processes.

Demonstrated ability to build and govern operating standards, response playbooks, metrics, and performance management processes.

Strong knowledge of global threat trends and intelligence practices, including the ability to convert analysis into practical business guidance.

Experience leading external vendors and holding partners accountable to performance expectations and service outcomes.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level briefing and reporting capability.

Proven ability to lead through influence, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in a complex global environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience standing up or transforming a GSOC, fusion center, or similar operational capability.

Experience supporting executive protection, travel risk management, or crisis response programs.

Familiarity with intelligence platforms, case management tools, incident management systems, and security technologies that enable monitoring and response.

Experience in a large, matrixed, global organization.

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week {or other frequency dictated by their manager}.
The selected candidate will be required to travel <25% for this role.
This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
