The Role
This position manages select U.S.A. Integrated Business Partners (IBP) for the GM Accessories Product Marketing team. In this role, the individual will assist in achieving the overall objectives related to Accessories financial metrics, manage the day-to-day relationships with assigned IBP suppliers, and work cross-functionally to develop and launch new accessories. This role will also take a lead in shaping Accessories strategy through data-driven insights and analysis. Familiarity with the
aftermarket accessories industry, product development processes, engineering, purchasing, marketing, and customer sales are preferred.
What You'll Do
- Launch new retail accessories to support vehicle product portfolios
- Analyze vehicle accessory gaps, industry trends and well-known aftermarket brands to identify potential new products and suppliers
- Coordinate on site engineering reviews for potential products to ensure vehicle use, fit, and safety standards are met
- Ensure financial metrics/business case objectives are achieved through robust portfolio development and innovation
- Negotiate contract terms and warranty details with new suppliers
- Work with Accessory Service Engineer on the creation of new IBP part numbers
- Collaborate with Global Business Services, Finance, Operations to onboard new suppliers/products in a timely manner
- Facilitate all operational aspects of supplier onboarding process while adhering to GM Supply Power guidelines
- Coordinate with Accessories Service Engineer to ensure proper usage on vehicles to conduct model year carry-over
- Monitor supplier performance levels to ensure shipping time requirements are being met
- Work with Marketing Agency to generate/review/approve all communications and marketing materials for product launches for Dealers and the ADI network
- Work with the Marketing Agency and GMIT for accuracy of product information published on GM sales sites such as AIC, Accessories HQ, eCommerce, and Divisional Brand sites
- Develop data-driven Accessories portfolio and channel strategies that align with business objectives
- Analyze sales and financial data on customer, vehicle, and competitive data to identify emerging trends, white space opportunities, and at-risk product lines and business analysis; recommend portfolio and go-to-market adjustments
- Synthesize complex data and insights into clear, executive-ready presentations and recommendations for senior leadership and cross-functional forums
- Monitor macro, industry, and consumer trends to proactively identify future Accessories needs and inform long-range planning
- Takes on special projects as requested
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in business, marketing, strategy analytics, finance, consulting, product development, program management, or a related analytical role; automotive or consumer products experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
- Customer & Market Orientation: Keen awareness of customer personalization needs, industry trends, consumer behavior, competitor products, and aftermarket accessory dynamics.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to connect customer and market insights, competitive dynamics, regulatory considerations, internal capabilities, and financial inputs to recommend clear portfolio priorities.
- Analytical Capability: Strong quantitative skills with proven ability to analyze large, complex datasets, identify trends and drivers, develop business cases, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Problem Solving & Prioritization: Ability to structure ambiguous business questions, prioritize hypotheses, evaluate tradeoffs, and drive to insights under tight timelines.
- Communication & Leadership Presence: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to frame issues, draw conclusions, and present recommendations clearly and succinctly to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to represent the team as an informed, confident, and active participant in internal and external product discussions and forums.
- Execution Discipline: Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments with strong attention to detail, timing, follow-through, and quality.
- Working Style: Flexibility and capability to work global hours as needed.
What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)
- Master’s degree.
- Experience in Product Development, Program Management, Analytics, Strategy, Marketing, Finance, or related fields.
- Familiarity with GM product, marketing, and data systems, including PPC, CR/DN, VCPS, Global Information Center,
- Competitive Product Database, Asset Central, and Global Connect.
- Experience with data visualization or business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau; advanced Excel skills
