The Role
As part of the Launch Team, the Launch Operations Supervisor will lead a group of hourly employees in the implementation and execution of the Automated Storage and Retrieval System / Warehouse Management System (ASRS/WMS) launch. This role is responsible for coordinating launch activities across operations, project, technology, WMS, and other plant functions to support a safe, effective, and timely transition to production.
The successful candidate will work across departments and shifts, help establish standardized work and training plans, and support continuous improvement as the Davison Road operation advances its future state warehousing and distribution capabilities. This is a plant-based role requiring flexibility to work across first, second, and third shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

Lead and support daily ASRS/WMS launch activities, monitoring execution and making timely adjustments as conditions change.

Lead, coach, and coordinate hourly employees during implementation, validation, training, and launch activities.

Partner with Project, Technology, WMS, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to develop and execute the implementation plan.

Coordinate communication and handoffs across shifts, departments, and functional teams to maintain alignment and issue visibility.

Analyze launch performance, identify barriers, and promptly escalate or resolve issues that may affect safety, quality, schedule, throughput, or employee readiness.

Promote safe work practices and support objectives related to ergonomics, occupational health, and safety.

Participate in cross-functional launch activities and deliverables, including standardized work, operating procedures, training materials, readiness reviews, and launch timelines.

Support operational readiness activities required to achieve 100% completion of launch deliverables by the agreed launch milestones.

Ensure employees receive the direction, training, and support needed to perform new or revised processes safely and effectively.

Support the implementation and sustainment of GM standards, GMS practices, and launch governance routines.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that improve process stability, employee experience, quality, responsiveness, and cost.

Build and maintain productive working relationships with employees, union representatives, management, and support organizations.

Document lessons learned, communicate status and risks to leadership, and help develop countermeasures that prevent repeat issues.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
-
Minimum of 2 years experience in a Launch role or Manufacturing/Warehousing operations management role

Ability to work or rotate through all three shifts: first, second, and third.

Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and other non-standard schedules as needed to support launch requirements.

Experience solving complex problems in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deliverables simultaneously.

Ability to take ownership, use initiative, and apply resourcefulness when addressing ambiguity or changing launch conditions.

High level of integrity, sound judgment, and self direction.

Demonstrates ability to lead, coach, and collaborate with hourly employees and cross-functional partners.
What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)

Experience in automotive manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, logistics, or material handling operations.

Experience supporting a new system, process, equipment, or facility launch.

Experience with ASRS, WMS, warehouse execution systems, or automated material handling technologies.

Experience developing standardized work, training plans, readiness assessments, or implementation schedules.

Familiarity with GM operating systems, GMS, BIQ, continuous improvement, or structured problem-solving methods.

Supervisory, team leadership, unionized workforce, or multi-shift operations experience.
