Description
The Role
GM Defense is seeking a Provisioning and Obsolescence Lead to manage the development, quality, and delivery of logistics and sustainment information for defense vehicle programs. This role connects engineering, supply chain, program management, technical documentation, information technology, contracts, suppliers, and customers to ensure that the parts, support equipment, technical data, and risk information needed to sustain vehicles are complete, accurate, and delivered on schedule.
This is a people leader role. The successful candidate will bring strong project management, technical data, supply chain, and cross-functional leadership skills. They will be comfortable working with customers and external partners, resolving incomplete or conflicting information, improving business processes, and leading a small team in a matrixed environment.
What You’ll Do
-
Own the planning, development, review, and delivery of provisioning and logistics product data, including parts lists, structured logistics analysis data, and related support documentation.
-
Coordinate with engineering, program, supply chain, technical publications, and other functional teams to collect missing information and resolve data gaps before customer reviews and provisioning events.
-
Lead preparation for and participation in customer provisioning conferences, reviews, and other milestone events; track decisions, actions, risks, and follow-up commitments through closure.
-
Establish quality-control practices to verify that customer-facing documentation is accurate, complete, internally consistent, and ready for submission.
-
Manage changes that affect bills of material, parts data, configuration information, and downstream sustainment deliverables.
-
Develop and execute an end-to-end provisioning strategy that improves timeliness, quality, repeatability, and internal capability while reducing unnecessary reliance on third-party providers.
-
Partner with Information Technology and process owners to improve the systems, data flows, and tools used to create and maintain provisioning information.
-
Lead transitions and integrations involving configuration data, single-source bills of material, logistics analysis applications, enterprise systems, and collaboration platforms, as applicable to the business need.
-
Own relationships and deliverables with third-party technical data, systems integration, and provisioning providers; define expectations, review performance, and ensure contracted work is completed.
-
Serve as a subject matter expert for provisioning and sustainment data. Investigate unresolved questions, identify the appropriate source of truth, and drive issues to resolution.
-
Lead lifecycle risk management for diminishing manufacturing sources, material shortages, and obsolescence across integrated vehicle and sustainment programs. Identify and assess risks involving materials, components, software, and technology; develop mitigation plans; and coordinate timely internal and customer reporting.
-
Lead, coach, and develop direct reports while building a collaborative, accountable, and customer-focused team.
-
Support proposal, capture, and new-program activities by applying provisioning and obsolescence expertise to estimates, schedules, execution plans, and customer requirements.
