Manufacturing Engineer Lead- 2nd shift- Toledo, OH
This is a 2nd shift opportunity- Hours 4pm-1am (M-Fri)

On-site: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Toledo, Ohio plant on a full-time basis. Must be willing to work weekends.

The Role:
Lead engineer for a group of process engineers responsible for maintaining, improving, and developing manufacturing processes, equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary to produce propulsion systems. Work is performed in a focus factory manufacturing engineering activity where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment.

What You'll Do: (Responsibilities)
- Manage day to day activities of a team of process engineers, including setting objectives, managing results, and evaluating/coaching individual performance
- Lead the development and implementation of improvements to the manufacturing processes
- Support business processes including Fast Response, Practical Problem Solving, and PPAP
- Interface with plant site personnel, Central ME personnel, and select Product Engineers on new programs/projects
- Analyze first time quality data and optimize processes using statistical tools such as Red X and Design of Experiments
- Develop process documentation for new products/processes including: Process Flow Diagram, Process Control Plan and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis
- Oversee and help coordinate PPAP and GP-12 activities
- Develop Product Quality Standards, Task Instruction Sheets, Safe Job Procedures and Audit Sheets
- Providing technical direction to less experienced process engineers
- Support Business Plan Deployment (BPD) initiatives and coordinate engineering activities to achieve Business Plan objectives
- Providing technical direction to and oversight of individuals in the factory and outside vendor sources
- Interface with plant site personnel in supporting Continuous Improvement projects at the plant to improve plant metrics in the Safety, People, Quality, Reliability, Cost (SPQRC) arena.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Demonstrated ability to lead a group of technical professionals
- Strong technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines
- Demonstrates excellent level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and difficult projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results
- Demonstrates initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help others
- Proven ability in project management skills and ability to teach others
- Effective working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Word
- Strong knowledge and ability to implement Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) principles
- Demonstrated basic understanding of mechanical concepts involving machine designs, process requirements involved in the manufacturing process.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Machining and assembly manufacturing process experience
- Bachelor degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience
