At General Motors, we empower Product Managers to solve challenging customer and business problems. We seek passionate and innovative team members who can collaborate effectively within product management, program management, design, and engineering teams to discover and deliver impactful solutions. We hold our teams accountable for results and seek leaders who can influence teammates, stakeholders, and executives using data and logic.
As a Staff Product Manager for Synthetic Data, you will define and execute the strategy and roadmap for enhancing the trust in Synthetic data used to create GMs next generation autonomy. This role will drive innovation in how we utilize and scale Synthetic Data to provide training data and insights faster to the autonomy development and validation teams. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, making tough tradeoffs, and thinking both from first principles and at fleet-wide scale.
What You’ll Do
- Own the long-term product vision, setting strategic direction for increasing the trust in Synthetic Data across GM, including scale synthetic data production (quality and volume) to define it as a first-class data source in the training workflow.
- Communicate very technically complex information in an easy-to-understand narrative to stakeholders across GM.
- Help drive a data-driven culture and establish and monitor key metrics to
measure the effectiveness of Synthetic Data, including:
- Establishing quality frameworks and "is this good enough?" criteria.
- Define and track KPIs that show the impact of synthetic data on model performance and program outcomes
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 5+ years product management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related fields
- Solid understanding of the latest Simulation platforms, ML orchestration infrastructure and validation workflows.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive projects forward, even without a clear path.
- Strong sense of accountability and ownership
- Proven ability to balance tradeoffs between user needs and
expectations, technical requirements and constraints and business objectives.
- Demonstrated expertise in writing, with the ability to effectively balance and integrate vision, strategy, and technical details in a cohesive narrative.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- An MBA or a master's Degree in a technical or engineering discipline
- Experience working on Autonomous Vehicles, ML infrastructure, or large-scale simulation/testing.
- Exposure to synthetic data generation, simulation, or domain adaptation for perception or behavior models.
