Opened in 1919, Saginaw Metal Casting Operations is the third-oldest GM facility in the United States. The plant uses precision-sand and semi-permanent-mold aluminum casting processes, along with pre-machining and final machining, to make components that help power GM vehicles. With more than $150 million in new equipment and tooling planned to support next-generation V-8 engine blocks and cylinder heads, Saginaw is building on its legacy while preparing for the future of manufacturing.
