The Role:
As the Plant Planner, you will be a key member of the plant staff that drives SPQRCE performance for shop wide and shift specific performance measurements. The position has a wide range of engagement from owner to support of various processes and initiatives. The role requires a strong ability to prioritize, manage time, multi-task and independently make good judgement based on a dynamic production environment. Communication and discipline to process are key attributes required to effectively implement standardized work along with projects that drive performance.
What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate Business Team Managers
- Coordinates the flow and tracking of hourly manpower, including hourly and salaried workday movement
- Coordinates and leads business plan deployment and LMS, GMS, WSS initiatives
- Leads employee engagement and workplace of choice initiatives
- Drives/tracks execution of the attendance policies and timekeeping system
- Leads new projects and initiatives across the plant
- Plays a key role in communication between all levels of the organization
- Works to resolve problems that require external shop or functional support
- Supports AM and GL with people issues that require labor or union involvement
- Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities
- Plans plant special events, tours and leadership visits
- Must be willing to flex shifts as needed to support business needs
- Backfill other roles and ad hoc duties as needed
Your Required Skills & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree, or five (5) years of equivalent experience in manufacturing
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- High level computer skills for all Microsoft applications and GM specific manufacturing applications
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
- Strong work ethic (self-starter, responsible, follow through on assignments)
- Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization in a team environment
- Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment
- Basic math, mechanical, and problem-solving skills
- Relatively high level of analytical ability where problems are complex
Skills and Experience that Will Give You A Competitive Edge:
- Master’s degree
- Knowledge of computer systems for timekeeping, engineering change, throughput and finance
- Project management experience
