Description
DUTIES: Technical expert for the development of cell assembly processes including development and approval of cell assembly equipment specifications. Provide technical leadership and coaching to team members and stakeholders. Develop battery cell assembly processes, engineering specifications, documentation, etc. Develop and implement Bill of Process and Bill of Equipment. Interface and build relationships with JV partners to support the flawless launch of battery cell manufacturing facilities. Work with machinery and equipment suppliers on procurement, design, build, validation, and start-up of cell assembly equipment. Work with equipment suppliers on design and build of cell assembly equipment. Optimization of cell manufacturing line layout for assembly processes. Support construction teams with specifications on building and facility requirements for assembly processes. Support implementation of GM safety specifications and equipment safety reviews. Develop assembly strategies for implementation of next generation battery cell technology. Interface with leadership and support development of battery cell manufacturing strategies. 25% travel required domestically and internationally. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study. Five (5) years of experience as a GMIO GPS Manufacturing Engineering, or related occupation. Must have five (5) years of experience in the following: Lean manufacturing approaches and tools; APQP & PFMEA, Process Control Plans, Bill of Process (BoP) and Bill of Equipment (BoE); Problem solving methodologies including Shainin, DFSS, and Red-X; and Global Manufacturing System (GMS). Three (3) years of experience in the following: High-speed assembly equipment used in battery cell manufacturing lines; and Statistical Process Control and Process capability. Two (2) years of experience in the following: Installation, debug and start up of high volume assembly equipment; Global Propulsion Systems Development Process (GPDP), Propulsion Systems Quality and Readiness Review (SPQRR); and Project Management.
