The Role
The Deal Lead, Corp Dev IT partners with Core IT and the business to run complex, high‑visibility initiatives across General Motors. The role plans, tracks, and advances Corp Dev IT work for joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic partnerships, including IT due diligence and integration planning for new deals. You will coordinate dependencies across a broad IT landscape, manage risks, and keep teams on track against critical business milestones. Success requires strong enterprise IT knowledge, sound business judgment, and the ability to influence outcomes across organizations without direct authority.
What You’ll Do

Partner with Core IT and the business to plan and execute Corp Dev IT initiatives across joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and other partnership efforts.

Participate in IT due diligence activities for new deals and support Day 1 / Day 2+ planning for endpoints, identity, collaboration, and support.

Build and maintain integrated plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and decision logs across multiple IT and business workstreams.

Serve as a central coordination point across IT and corporate partners so teams stay aligned on scope, timing, readiness, and key deliverables.

Track program health and provide clear, concise status reporting, escalations, and executive‑ready updates for leaders and stakeholders.

Help shape repeatable ways of working, playbooks, and governance for Corp Dev IT so the organization can execute deals and strategic relationships more consistently.

Identify delivery risks, organizational friction points, and gaps early, then influence the right stakeholders so IT work stays aligned with business, partnership, and integration goals.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

6+ years of experience in program management, project management, IT operations, enterprise technology, or a related field.

3+ years leading large, cross‑functional initiatives that span multiple teams, functions, or business areas.

Strong understanding of how IT operates in a large enterprise (infrastructure, security, identity, collaboration, applications, and support).

Demonstrated experience building and managing program plans, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and executive status updates.

Proven ability to influence without direct authority and drive progress across teams with competing priorities.

Strong business acumen and ability to connect technology work to business strategy, operating goals, and partnership outcomes.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior leaders.

Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow‑through in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, or other cross‑company initiatives.

Familiarity with IT due diligence, Day 1 readiness, Day 2 integration planning, or post‑close operating models.

Experience working across corporate functions such as Legal, HR, Finance, Security, and Corporate Development.

Experience building or improving governance models, program playbooks, operating rhythms, or portfolio reporting.

Comfort working in environments where success depends on relationship‑building, judgment, and informal leadership as much as process discipline.

Experience with enterprise program and reporting tools such as Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, Power BI, or similar platforms.
