The Role
The North America Market Analysis team provides the market and industry insight that helps guide decision-making across GM’s Sales, Service and Marketing organization. As the Senior Manager, Market & Industry Analysis, you will lead a team responsible for analyzing the U.S. automotive market, developing industry forecasts and translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for North America leadership. You will work cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, GM Envolve, Commercial, Finance, Investor Relations and Communications. Your insights will help GM anticipate market conditions, align business decisions and deliver winning results.
What You’ll Do

Lead and develop a team of analysts who provide actionable market insights to GM North America leadership.

Support North America leadership with comprehensive market analysis and industry forecast expertise.

Establish the U.S. industry sales outlook for the current year and following year, serving as the foundation for GM’s monthly and annual U.S. outlook.

Develop U.S. industry segment sales forecasts for both retail and fleet markets.

Create a detailed monthly outlook for GM and competing original equipment manufacturers, including projected sales and market share, to help leadership monitor market conditions.

Partner with Communications, Investor Relations and Finance to develop clear sales and market-share messages.

Support the development of forecasting analytics, statistical models and other tools that improve insight generation and decision-making.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Marketing, Business or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

At least five years of management experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.

Expert knowledge of the U.S. automotive market.

Deep understanding of major automotive data sources, including PIN, POLK, IHS and CVI.

Exceptional analytical ability, attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.

Ability to lead a team in developing clear, actionable insights from complex data.

Ability to think strategically, integrate multiple viewpoints and assess complex scenarios.

Ability to translate analysis into a compelling story and communicate insights clearly to senior leaders.

Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, with comfort presenting frequently to senior leaders.

Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Demonstrated initiative, strong work ethic and a results-oriented approach.
What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)

Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Marketing, Business or a related field.

Background in statistical modeling, predictive modeling or industry forecasting.

Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI.

Experience developing forecasting analytics, modeling tools or repeatable market-intelligence processes.

Experience working across Marketing, Sales, Commercial, Finance, Investor Relations and Communications teams.

Ability to build strong relationships, collaborate across functions and influence decisions without direct authority.

Demonstrated ability to develop others, champion change, solve problems and drive results.

Strong customer focus and a commitment to honesty, ethics and integrity.
