Role
The Business Insights Analyst is responsible for building and maintaining a single source of truth for GM Fleet’s product portfolio, with a focus on fleet and commercial offerings. This role sits at the intersection of product planning, forecasting, and sales, ensuring our teams have timely, accurate information to make portfolio, volume, and go‑to‑market decisions.
You will work closely with product planning, forecasting, marketing, and sales enablement to align plans, resolve constraints, and deliver executive-ready materials that tell a clear product story.
Key Responsibilities
- Product and portfolio Analyst
- Serve as the primary owner of the GM Envolve product and portfolio record across assigned nameplates and programs.
- Attend and actively participate in product meetings with Fleet Product Marketing, translating decisions and actions into the portfolio record and downstream deliverables.
- Partner with forecasting, sales, and marketing to ensure portfolio inputs support volume plans, objectives, and commercial strategy.
- Portfolio record management
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve a comprehensive product record portfolio:
- Model specifications (features, trims, packages, regulatory attributes).
- Pricing (MSRP, fleet programs, incentive structures, key changes vs. prior MY).
- Competitive intelligence (key competitors, price/feature positioning, launch activity).
- Volume plans (by model/trim, channel, and major customer segment).
- Constraints and availability (plant, content, regulatory, and other restrictions).
- Launch cadence (key timing milestones, phase-ins/phase-outs, MY changeovers).
- Build‑out / start‑up timing and implications for fleet and rental customers.
- Ensure all portfolio data is accurate, version‑controlled, and easily accessible to cross-functional partners.
- Executive and field‑ready materials
- Own and finalize all product and portfolio decks, including leadership reviews and internal readiness materials.
- Translate complex product, pricing, and volume information into clear, concise, visually compelling presentations.
- Coordinate inputs from product planning, finance, marketing, and sales to ensure alignment before each review.
- Continuous improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase data accuracy, reduce manual work, and improve transparency into portfolio decisions.
- Partner with analytics and IT teams as needed to enhance dashboards, tools, and reporting related to product and portfolio health.
- Ad Hoc
- Pull, validate, and deliver ad hoc Polk/S&P Global registrations and market data in response to internal stakeholder and field team requests.
- Enter, update, and reconcile data in FOOS and Track systems to ensure timely and accurate capture of results.
- Serve as a contact for field sales and account team requests, including data pulls, standard reports, and simple custom analyses.
- Finalize All Decks
- Consolidate inputs from multiple stakeholders and finalize review decks for leadership.
- Check all numbers, charts, and tables against source data; ensure consistent formatting, branding, and message flow.
- Prepare versions tailored for different audiences (e.g., executive summaries vs. working-level detail).
- Qualifications
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience (5+ years automotive OEM analytical experience).
- Proven ability to manage large, complex datasets and maintain high standards for data accuracy and governance.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and presentation tools (PowerPoint or equivalent); ability to build executive ready decks.
- Experience working cross functionally
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical and commercial details into clear narratives.
- Preferred :
- OEM Experience in fleet, or commercial vehicle markets.
- Experience with business intelligence / visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Demonstrated success in driving process standardization and cross training across functions.
