About the role:

Corporate Common Components (CCC) is a core GM strategy that enables enterprise value at scale by reducing portfolio complexity, increasing re-use, accelerating time to market, and improving cost and capital efficiency. The CCC team manages the Core Bill of Materials used across GM’s global product portfolio, spanning Chassis, Interiors, Exteriors, Body, Electrical, and Thermal Systems.

The CCC Execution EGM and Program Engineering Manager (PEM) leads end-to-end enterprise execution of the CCC portfolio. This role owns Core BOM strategy, sourcing alignment to a single commercial target, capital portfolio development and funding execution, engineering change governance, supply risk mitigation, and key CCC business processes and systems.

The position offers a uniquely broad impact —spanning the entire GVDP and interfacing with all SMTs. Operating as a central integrator across SMTs, GPSC, Program Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Design, SDV, AVDC, and other enterprise partners. The successful candidate will combine strategic judgment, strong cross-functional leadership, and operational discipline to drive reuse strategies across programs and plants while maximizing capital investment outlay.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead at team to grow reuse in the Product Engineering organization.
  • Lead end-to-end execution of the CCC portfolio for strategy, funding, sourcing, change management, and deployment. Lead all associated execution CCC aPEM activity.
  • Expert who drives reuse in the engineering function. Drives process excellence, high quality and approval of CCC strategies/integration/rollout within CCC VAPET and ensure alignment with CCC leadership/APMs, SMT, SDV, AVDC and cross-functional teams.
  • Optimize BEC and Automation plans across CCC BOM rows and plants with CCC manufacturing MIM.
  • Chair key CCC governance forums and drive alignment on technical decisions, funding priorities, deployment plans, and portfolio risks.
  • Own Core BOM curation and approval, including addition and deletion decisions, to support enterprise reuse and portfolio optimization.
  • Champion cross-program/plant proliferation control with SMT. Enforce Family Variant Map discipline and design flexibility constraints; assess interface and change risk across programs/plants.
  • Drive single-target commercial alignment across programs by ensuring sourcing deliverables reflect approved CCC cost, volume, tooling, and plant strategies.
  • Approve capital funding requests based on business merit, reuse breadth, timing, risk, and return on investment.
  • Lead annual CCC Appropriation Request (AR) portfolio planning and execution, including business case development, approvals, forecasting, and closure discipline.
  • Resolve cross-functional issues involving safety, integration, timing, cost, and deviations from plan by aligning options with program and SMT leadership.
  • Partner with Purchasing and enterprise stakeholders to strengthen supplier resiliency, mitigate cross-program and cross-plant risk, and support re-sourcing when required.
  • Drive disciplined engineering change governance by ensuring completeness, quality, and alignment of supporting documentation, sign-offs, and implementation plans.
  • Standardize CCC communications and decisions to support sourcing readiness, program execution, and launch success.
  • Own CCC execution-related systems, procedures, templates, portals, and process improvements and serve as the business record owner.
  • Lead PEM for CCC supplier resiliency mitigation: ensure catastrophic plans at MPSR/PSR, monitor FRR trends, and direct actions for distressed suppliers (option plans, funding paths, re sourcing support).
  • Use analytics, KPIs, and modern digital tools to improve decision quality, increase efficiency, and reduce friction across CCC processes.
  • Partner with CCC APMs, Program PEMs, Chiefs, ECEs, Finance, Manufacturing, and other functions to sustain high-quality reuse strategies across the full GVDP.
  • Aggressively innovate using Ai and Analytics tools, methods and in partnership within GEOS or other key partners across enterprise. Actively identify friction points for internal and external users and implement enhancements to processes, systems, and communications.

What You’ll Bring                                                              

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in product engineering, program leadership, or related technical leadership roles
  • Strong experience in design release, systems integration, performance, or product development
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional work and influence decisions across a matrixed organization
  • Experience developing and executing business cases, capital plans, or portfolio-level funding decisions
  • Experience working in sourcing, launch, manufacturing, supplier, or program execution environments
  • Proven ability to lead governance and approval forums and drive alignment to timing, cost, and quality objectives
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and issue-resolution skills with executive presence across technical and business functions
  • Proficiency with digital tools used for program execution, analytics, and decision support, including Excel, SharePoint, Power BI, and related systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, ambiguity, and broad enterprise scope

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Program Engineering Manager (PEM) experience
  • Prior CCC, Core BOM, or enterprise reuse strategy experience
  • MBA or equivalent business, finance, or capital planning background
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide portfolio, reuse, or cross-program integration strategies
  • Experience in project and portfolio management disciplines
  • Experience with Jira, Power Automate, Excel macros, or other analytics and visualization tools
  • Demonstrated ownership of business cases and financial metrics such as ROI, NPV, or ROIC
  • Experience in Portfolio Planning, Advanced Product Engineering, Purchasing, or supplier risk and resiliency work
