Job Description
The Senior Indirect Buyer is responsible for leading end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities for indirect materials and services, ensuring the best total cost of ownership, service quality, compliance with company policies, and risk mitigation. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to develop procurement strategies, negotiate contracts, and drive sourcing initiatives that support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for indirect materials and service categories.
- Lead RFQ/RFP processes, including scope definition, supplier selection, proposal analysis, negotiations, and sourcing recommendations.
- Negotiate contracts, amendments, pricing, service levels, performance metrics, and commercial terms.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs, priorities, and sourcing timelines.
- Conduct cost analysis, TCO assessments, savings calculations, and business case development.
- Manage supplier performance, risk mitigation plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor contract lifecycle activities, including renewals and renegotiations.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, internal controls, and corporate governance requirements.
- Support audits and maintain adequate sourcing documentation and process traceability.
- Lead or support procurement transformation, productivity, and supplier consolidation projects.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced buyers on sourcing best practices and complex negotiations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, International Business, or related fields.
- Solid experience in Indirect Procurement/Sourcing, typically 5+ years.
- Experience managing complex sourcing projects, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
- Experience working in multinational and highly matrixed environments.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing methodologies, RFQ/RFP processes, supplier management, and procurement best practices.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with PowerPoint.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Intermediate to Advanced English proficiency.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with e-Sourcing and e-Auction platforms (Ariba or similar tools).
- Knowledge of TCO analysis, savings calculations, and procurement financial evaluations.
- Experience leading procurement transformation or digitalization initiatives.
- Previous exposure to global procurement organizations.
- Experience in categories such as Facilities, Corporate Services, Benefits, Engineering Services, or other indirect procurement categories.
- Knowledge of contract governance, service level agreements (SLAs), and compliance requirements.
