This role is categorized as on-site. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to HQ Building in Shanghai, China full time.
The Role -
The Communications team at General Motors focuses on impact and driving transformation through storytelling. We engage with media, employees, influencers, stakeholders and consumers to amplify our company’s reputation and our products and services. We are broad thinkers, team-first and subject matter experts in our field. We collaborate across the business, lead with insights and always ask how we can use communications to add value to the enterprise.
We are looking for a product & technology communicator that will be specialized in storytelling for GM’s vehicles, brand identity and technological advancements in China, spanning internal and external communications. This role will help shape how GM’s products and innovation are understood by key audiences, with a focus on vehicle launches, product positioning and integrated brand narratives. The successful candidate will partner closely with cross-functional teams to translate product and technology advancements into clear, compelling and differentiated communications strategies and content.
What You’ll Do -
- Covers communications about vehicle launches, product positioning, and brand campaigns.
- Develops narratives for EV, ICE, AV, and software innovations.
- Works closely with engineering, design, and marketing teams to translate product advancements into compelling internal/external messaging.
- Engages with media, employees, influencers, stakeholders, and consumers to amplify product differentiation and brand reputation.
- Develops external thought leadership and public affairs strategies for executives (e.g., S&S, Brand, and Engineering Executives).
