We are looking for an experienced 2nd or 3rd Class Operating Engineer to join our St. Catharine’s Propulsion Plant - Powerhouse.
Key Responsibilities
-
Required to safely and efficiently operate, maintain and repair high pressure steam gas fired boilers, air compressors and all auxiliary equipment in a first-class power plant

Able to trouble shoot and perform routine maintenance on various operational equipment

Perform the duties of the lead shift engineer as required for vacation and other absences
Who We Are Looking For:
-
Possession of a valid 2nd or 3rd Class Operating Engineer's certificate

Able to work on Monday - Friday, 7:00 - 3:00 day shift and cover some Shift Engineer Absences (7:00am - 7:00pm & 7:00pm - 7:00am

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Proficient computer skills
-
Energetic and self-motivated

Familiar with the operation and maintenance of large air compressors

Working knowledge of DCS Controls

Able to work with minimal direct supervision

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Compensation: 2nd Class – full rate of $56.17/hr.

3rd Class – full rate of $53.71/hr.

You will earn an afternoon shift premium of 5%, a night shift premium of 10%, paid overtime in accordance with the collective agreement.
