This role is categorized as on-site. The successful candidate is expected to report to the HQ Building full time.
The Role -
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Legal Counsel to join our legal team. This role will provide legal support across a broad range of transactional, corporate governance, and general corporate matters. The successful candidate will work closely with business teams and senior legal leadership to deliver practical, commercially-minded legal advice in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
What You’ll Do
Transactions
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including supply agreements, licensing arrangements, and other corporate transactions.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders on complex or cross-border transactions as needed.
Corporate Governance
- Assist with shareholder, board and committee meeting preparation, including drafting resolutions, minutes, and corporate filings.
- Advise on corporate governance best practices and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Maintain and update corporate records, internal systems, and statutory registers.
Joint Venture (JV) Support
- Work with JV partners on governance and regulatory compliance matters to ensure compliance with JV agreements and applicable regulations.
- Support the negotiation and management of JV-related commercial and corporate arrangements in collaboration with internal business teams and external counsel.
General Legal and Administrative Support
- Handle additional legal and administrative tasks as assigned by supervisors, including regulatory filings, compliance reviews, and internal policy development.
- Provide day-to-day legal support to internal business partners across various functions.
- Assist with legal department operations, knowledge management, and process improvement initiatives.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Qualifications and Requirements
- Qualified to practice law in the People's Republic of China (holder of a valid PRC legal professional qualification certificate / Chinese Bar).
- Minimum of 5-7 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) in transactional and corporate law, gained at a reputable law firm or in-house legal department.
- Strong knowledge of PRC corporate, commercial, and regulatory law.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills in both Chinese and English.
- Familiarity with corporate governance frameworks and best practices.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- In-house legal experience in the automotive, manufacturing, or technology sector.
- Experience supporting cross-border transactions or working with international stakeholders.
- Experience working with or supporting joint ventures, particularly in the China market, including JV governance, partner coordination, and JV-related commercial agreements.
- Postgraduate legal qualification or additional professional certifications (e.g., LLM, compliance certification).
