The Role
If you are interested in understanding the future of General Motors Propulsion products – engines, transmissions, and electric drive unit systems – GAIC (Global Artisan Innovation Center) GPS FMS (Flexible Machine Shop) Scheduling has a place for you! This role is a “cross-functional” team role. Assists Product Engineering, GAIC GPS Operations, Manufacturing and several organizations supporting the request of part fabrication/processing in the GAIC GPS FMS organization. Role requires the basic understanding of part movement through machine processing and will include miscellaneous support tasks. Work involves high degree of accuracy and ability to make decisions within the limits of general policies and procedures. Independent judgment is used with supervision available to handle unusual situations. (This role is on-site Daily)
What You'll Do

Manages schedule/priority of requests for FMS.

Frequent contact with stakeholders outside the work group.

Must be proactive to follow-up on supplied information, for clarification / missing inputs.
Required Qualifications
-
2+ years in the business environment (FMS, component manufacturing preferred).

High level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.

Demonstrated ability to manage, multiple projects and assignments with a high level of autonomy and accountability for results.

Good focus on the main priorities / outputs to get assignments completed on time.

Ability to handle projects /people/ situations that are complex in nature.
-
Working knowledge of EMS and related processes.
-
Proficient in Excel, and other MS tools inclusive of Word and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in a business, engineering, or related field
-
Working knowledge of scheduling development tools such as PowerBi, CTMS, Sharepoint Creation, Power Automate Software, and Excel Macros.

Understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., turning, milling, grinding, heat treatment, etc.)

Administrative support of Project Management (e.g., maintaining timelines, schedules, reporting, capacity charts, EMS, EVOS Schedule, etc.)
