On the Right TRACK: How Vir Dasgupta Helps GM Teams Use Automation and AI Every Day
For Vir Dasgupta, the future of automation starts with the bigger picture.
The engineering behind every breakthrough.
Design the processes, technologies and systems that turn bold vehicle ideas into real-world impact.

Manufacturing engineers turn ambition into motion. At GM, you’ll help transform ideas, materials and technology into the vehicles and propulsion systems people rely on—designing the processes, equipment and systems that make production safer, smarter and more efficient.
From program launch and virtual build to the plant floor, you’ll work across teams to solve real problems, remove bottlenecks and continuously improve how we build. As a manufacturing engineer, your work has a direct line to the product—and to the people who use it.
Manufacturing Engineers at GM are the link between product design and the plant floor. They turn concepts into safe, repeatable processes, help launch new programs, solve problems in real time and continuously improve how products are built. The work is technical, hands-on and collaborative—helping make every launch safer, smarter and more efficient.
Create and improve the workflows, layouts and systems that bring products to life. You’ll help translate product designs into processes that are safe, repeatable and ready for production.
Find root causes, remove bottlenecks and improve safety, quality and efficiency. You’ll work close to the plant floor to address challenges and keep production moving forward.
Automation and robotics experience is a plus—but not a requirement. We’ll help you build the knowledge you need. We’ll help you build the knowledge you need as you work with the systems shaping modern manufacturing.
We’re looking for practical problem-solvers with mechanical or manufacturing fundamentals who collaborate, learn and keep improving. A willingness to ask questions and grow is just as important as what you already know.
