Description
DUTIES: Owner of deliverables and processes for AIP/UHP and Plenum Zone Integration. Create, manage, and update relevant BOM imperatives, ICDs, Best Practices and KPAC sets. Support supplier Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA). Responsible to develop and maintain hardware review process. Work with technical community to develop technology roadmap solutions. Provide proposals for new technology ideas and projects and provide technical support to cross-functional groups. Support or define enterprise sourcing strategies and business models. Foster communication and learnings between regions. Model and foster GM’s Core Values and Winning behaviors. Lead Plenum Zone Integration Team and run weekly meetings, Balance vehicle’s Plenum Zone design to ensure all requirements are met including HVAC Air Flow, Engine Fume Management, and Water Management. Lead and support VDDV 2025 virtual initiatives for the transition of eliminating physical testing. Manage Plenum Zone Integration Best Practices. 25% travel to client sites domestically. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study. Seven (7) years of experience as a Design Release Engineer, Senior Product Application Engineer, Intermediate Product Performance Engineer, Junior Product Engineer, or related occupation. Seven (7) years of experience in the following: Writing and understanding hardware requirements; Product design and development cycles; and Global regulations including FMVSS/CMVSS, ECE, China, Korea, Brazil, India, and Israel. Five (5) years of experience in the following: Wipers, AIP and UHP, Fixed Glass, Passenger Comfort, Body Trim or Front End Closures; and Red X Experience. Four (4) years of experience in the following: Hardware design and failure modes in electronics modules; and Fluid Dynamics for air flow and water drainage. One (1) year of experience in the following: Agile tools including Jira, Kanban, Backlogging, and WSJF.
