Hybrid: This position requires you to work on-site 3 times a week (Tue to Thu)
Responsibilities:
- Define and execute commodity strategy aligned to global/regional strategies, including market intelligence and supplier plans.
- Lead sourcing events
- Drive fact ‑ based negotiations using cost models and full cost breakdowns
- Manage contracts and pricing, issuing and maintaining contracts/POs, and governance for price increases
- Deliver cost and value performance via productivity and advanced opportunity projects
- Steer supplier relationships and performance
- Support launches and engineering changes
- Advanced analytical and problem ‑ solving skills with proven impact on complex, cross‑functional issues.
- Strong influencing and communication skills with internal and external senior stakeholders.
- High degree of independence in prioritizing and delivering multiple initiatives in a global environment.
Preferred critical skills:
- Automotive industry experience
- Knowledge of procurement software
- Knowledge of materials management
- Capable of interpreting market data
- Able to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documents
- Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor degree completed
- Advanced or fluent English
- Relevant experience in Purchasing (especially direct purchasing)
- Automotive industry experience
- Availability to travel when required
Desired qualifications:
- Experience in engine and transmission procurement
- Familiarity with AI-based tools
- Proficiency in Power BI
- Experience with relevant commodities (steel, resins, alum)
Skills:
- Strategic thinking and business intelligence
- Strong data acumen and cost modeling experience
- Advanced negotiation skills and innovation mindset
