GM Defense (GMD) is a dynamic and exciting growth opportunity within General Motors! Within GMD, the Digital and Business Operations team is leading efforts to build systems, tools, and processes which support our service of government customers across the GM Defense portfolio of products.
The Role:
The Business Operations Analyst supports this mission by owning and optimizing core business systems, dashboards, reporting, and content platforms that provide clear, reliable visibility into performance and enable efficient, compliant execution across GM Defense programs. You will manage dashboards and reporting, serve as product owner for AAM, eDepot, lead FedZone business testing, process development, and user training, and support Box administration so teams have the information and tools they need to meet customer commitments while embodying GM Behaviors.
What You’ll Do

Dashboards & Reporting — Own and optimize dashboards, reports, and related business systems to provide clear, reliable visibility into performance across GM Defense programs.

AAM & eDepot Ownership — Serve as product owner for AAM & eDepot, driving requirements, enhancements, and user adoption to support efficient, compliant execution.

FedZone Execution — Lead FedZone business testing, process development, and user training so teams can operate effectively and confidently within the environment.

Box Support & Governance — Support Box administration and structure to ensure teams have secure, organized access to the content and tools they need to meet customer commitments while embodying GM Behaviors.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
-
Candidate must either be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) or a non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required export control authorization.
-
2+ years of demonstrated experience working with complex, multi-system data.
-
Advanced proficiency with Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint or equivalent tools to build workflow automation, forms, and lightweight applications.
-
Advanced proficiency with Power BI (or comparable BI tools) for developing interactive dashboards and reports.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret trends, identify data quality issues, and develop pragmatic recommendations.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document and present complex information to non-technical audiences.
What will give you a competitive edge (Preferred Qualifications)

Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data/Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field.

Experience working in the defense industry or on government programs.

Background application management and application lifecycle planning.

Prior involvement in continuous improvement or Kaizen initiatives, especially those focused on analytics, workflow optimization, or process digitization.
