  • Create math data and virtual layouts for complex components and subsystems.

  • Apply standard modeling methods, design standards, engineering best practices, and Global infoBOOK Standards.

  • Apply manufacturability, Design for Assembly, and integration principles to component and subsystem designs.

  • Document and maintain material, mass, and other part specifications within the math file.

  • Complete NX analyses for assigned subsystems and communicate the results to relevant stakeholders.

  • Integrate component and subsystem designs into larger vehicle systems.

  • Ensure the high-quality and on-time release of math data for components and subsystems.

Virtual Integration

  • Develop virtual integration solutions that support program and vehicle requirements.

  • Apply virtual integration design principles, concepts, theories, practices, and procedures.

  • Perform higher-level assignments involving non-routine problems with broad and dynamic scope.

  • Conduct virtual data queries, analysis, and interrogation from individual parts through complete vehicle integration.

  • Evaluate vehicle assembly structures, part design usage, and configuration requirements.

  • Coordinate program or SMT-related activities under the guidance of the Virtual Design Leader Technical or Senior Virtual Designer.

Collaboration and Program Support

  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to achieve product design requirements.

  • Support other designers with design activities, component requirements, and virtual integration tasks.

  • Actively participate in and, when appropriate, lead design and virtual reviews.

  • Proactively communicate project status, timing, and technical issues to the Design Manager and Design Release Engineer.

  • Share lessons learned with other designers and recommend updates to engineering best practices.

  • Stay current with product developments, technologies, and trends within the assigned area of responsibility.

  • Identify opportunities for continued learning and actively pursue professional development.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Engineering graduation completed

  • Working knowledge of Seats development, including foam, plastic, and stamping components.

  • Proficiency in NX software and CAD tools.

  • Knowledge of GM CAD and Data Management Systems, including PLM.

  • Strong understanding of standard modeling methods and math fidelity throughout each development cycle.

  • Solid knowledge of virtual integration theory, principles, practices, and procedures.

  • Ability to solve non-routine technical problems involving complex components, subsystems, and vehicle integration.

  • Ability to apply manufacturability, Design for Assembly, and product integration knowledge.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, technical leaders, and other stakeholders.

  • English from intermediate level

Key strengths that can make your profile stand out:

  • Work independently while seeking technical direction when needed.

  • Demonstrate creative solution development and sound technical judgment.
