Description

Why this role matters: This is an opportunity to shape the platform that powers how connected vehicle services and digital features are activated, fulfilled, and verified for GM customers globally. The work directly influences customer experience, launch readiness, operational reliability, and GM’s ability to scale new digital products across markets and vehicle programs.

At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We’re turning today’s impossible into tomorrow’s standard —from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features.

Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.

The Role

The Senior Product Manager for Unified Entitlement & Fulfillment owns a critical portion of GM’s global platform for connected vehicle service activation and delivery. This platform determines which services, features, and digital upgrades a customer or vehicle should receive, activates those capabilities across vehicle and app experiences, and verifies that fulfillment happens accurately and reliably end-to-end.

This role is responsible for shaping and delivering product capabilities across the entitlement lifecycle—including eligibility, entitlement, activation, verification, and observability. It is a highly cross-functional individual contributor role that works closely with engineering, architecture, commercial teams, regional operations, and program management to define product requirements, prioritize roadmap outcomes, improve platform reliability, and reduce operational risk in production.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Own product strategy and roadmap execution for key areas of GM’s Unified Entitlement & Fulfillment Platform within the broader OnStar and customer experience ecosystem.
  • Define clear problem statements, product requirements, user journeys, and decision models that standardize entitlement and lifecycle logic across cloud and in-vehicle systems.
  • Partner with engineering, program management, and regional stakeholders to prioritize backlog, sequence delivery, and deliver high-impact milestones that support vehicle and commercial launches.
  • Translate regional needs, product variants, and service-code complexity into scalable platform capabilities that support a configurable global model.
  • Use data, telemetry, and operational signals to identify product gaps and drive improvements that reduce defects, false denials, and manual interventions.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment across dependent teams by communicating priorities, trade-offs, and customer or business impact with clarity.
  • Support governance, auditability, privacy, and safety requirements by ensuring product decisions are traceable, measurable, and operationally sound.

Yours Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • 5+ years of product management experience, including meaningful ownership of complex platform or infrastructure products such as entitlement systems, identity and access, billing, decision engines, or large-scale backend platforms.
  • Proven track record of defining and delivering roadmap outcomes across multiple teams and systems, including cloud services, data platforms, and/or embedded or on-device experiences.
  • Strong systems-thinking skills and comfort working in problem spaces that combine rules and decisioning , data modeling , and high-reliability operations .
  • Experience writing high-quality product requirements, strategy documents, and workflows that align engineering, architecture, operations, and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data, telemetry, and observability signals to inform prioritization and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, outcome-oriented narratives.

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Experience in connected vehicle, telematics, subscription, entitlement, commerce, or other safety- and revenue-critical digital platforms.
  • Familiarity with rule engines, decision models, catalog or EDM systems, subscription management, and vehicle entitlement or fulfillment orchestration.
  • Background working with regionalized product or platform requirements and translating them into scalable global capabilities.
  • Experience with in-vehicle software or embedded systems, especially related to feature activation, OTA, or safety-relevant functionality.
  • Prior experience working in environments that require strong auditability, privacy controls, and operational rigor.
